🌊🐢 Queensland research recognised on the global stage at ISTS 2026 🐢🌊
The Queensland Marine Turtle Network is proud to celebrate the achievements of two outstanding students at the 44th International Sea Turtle Society Symposium in Hawai‘i.
In highly competitive international categories, two Queensland-based research projects were recognised with runner-up Archie Carr Student Awards:
🏆 Davey Dor – Biology Oral (Nesting & Early Life Stages)
“POV: you're a sea turtle that just hatched.”
🏆 Nisha Hamann – Conservation Poster
“Sea turtle mortality in Queensland’s shark control gear”
These awards highlight the strength of marine turtle research in Queensland and the important contributions emerging scientists are making to conservation both locally and globally.
