✨ Culture, creativity and community... all for FREE! 🖤💛❤️

We had an incredible day exploring Clancestry 2026 at QPAC, browsing the Gathaa First Nations Market and taking part in two fantastic free workshops.

🌿 We created beautiful native floral wreaths with Blak Botanics.
🧶 We learnt the basics of weaving with Durban Bagii.
🛍️ We met talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and makers.
🎶 We enjoyed live performances, delicious food and a welcoming festival atmosphere.

🖤 Hundreds of people dressed in stunning gothic and alternative fashion, a beautiful Brisbane winter's day, welcoming vibes and a relaxing picnic in the park... what's not to love?

We recently attended the The Brisbane Gothic and Alternative Picnic for the very first time, and it quickly became one of our favourite community events! From incredible Victorian-inspired outfits and cyber goths to markets, raffles, colouring in and a wonderfully inclusive atmosphere, it was a day full of creativity, friendship and self-expression.

👀 Believe It... or Not! 🤯

One of my birthday bucket list adventures was finally visiting Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Surfers Paradise, and it definitely didn't disappoint!

From incredible artwork made entirely from toast 🍞 and a portrait of Heath Ledger, to bizarre exhibits like a two-headed baby and standing beside the world's tallest man, there was something surprising around every corner.

We also braved the Mirror Maze, nearly lost our balance in the Vortex Tunnel, and saved the best until last—the 7D Moving Theatre, where we spent the entire ride screaming, laughing and shooting robots! 😂🎮

If you're looking for a fun indoor activity on the Gold Coast, especially on a rainy day, this is definitely one to add to your list.

🦖 We survived DinoFest... just! 😂

"If you're ever chased by a dinosaur... RUN. KEEP RUNNING." 🏃💨🦖

We had an absolute roarsome time at DinoFest Brisbane at Kalinga Park! From life-sized roaring dinosaurs and adorable baby dinos that loved belly scratches, to fossil digs, dinosaur tattoos and meeting the hilarious Dino Rangers, it was such a fun family day out.

One thing we really appreciated was that the sessions weren't overcrowded, so everyone had a fantastic view of the dinosaur encounters. The atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter and plenty of prehistoric fun!

If you're looking for a budget-friendly outing with your support person in Brisbane, this one is definitely worth checking out.

🎀 We Finally Visited the Hello Kitty Café on the Gold Coast... and It Was Kawaii Overload! 💖

After having it on my bucket list for ages, I finally got to celebrate my birthday with a visit to the adorable Hello Kitty Café at Pacific Fair! 🥹🎉

From cute bento boxes and delicious desserts to Kuromi latte art, exclusive merchandise, and the prettiest pink décor, this place is a dream come true for Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans. 🌈☕🍰

Was it worth the drive from Brisbane's northside? Did the food live up to the hype? And yes... did I come home with more Kuromi merch than I probably needed? 🤫😂

🧚‍♀️✨ Fairy wings, magical markets, mythical creatures, and an incredible community atmosphere!

We spent the day at Faeries & Folklore hosted by Enchanted Faire & Artist Alley at Pine Rivers Showgrounds, and had an fantastic time exploring the stalls, admiring the amazing costumes, and soaking up all the fantasy fun.

I expected drumming.🥁
I didn’t expect to leave wanting to see the whole show again immediately!

DRUM TAO at Redcliffe Entertainment Centre was loud, intense, funny, dramatic and somehow felt like a theatre show and rock concert at the same time.

Definitely one of the most unexpected nights out I’ve had lately.

I wrote about the experience, what surprised me most, and why I think the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre is a hidden gem when it comes to live shows in Queensland.
