The ANZAC Day Parade is an annual event when Brisbane, Queensland unites to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand service men and women.

What happens when a parade becomes a community-wide conversation?
 
Over the past two years, we’ve worked with Anzac Day Parade Brisbane to boost registrations, spread the word about the parade and remind everyone why Anzac Day matters. Along the way, something happened that we hadn’t planned for. By building up the parade’s digital presence, we helped bring together a growing online and in-person community of veterans, defence personnel and their families, and that community has helped increase both volunteer numbers and attendance.
 
Our 2026 campaign brought together PR, paid social and content to make this happen, from a four-part social-first series interviewing volunteers and defence personnel to real-time parade coverage and plenty of media moments along the way. Aruga is incredibly proud to be part of Anzac Day Parade Brisbane, and we’re looking forward to 2027.

Today we recognise the 25th anniversary of Australian service in Afghanistan, acknowledging the courage, commitment and sacrifice of all who served.

From 2001 to 2021, more than 35,000 Australians were deployed to Afghanistan and the Middle East Area of Operations in relation to Afghanistan. They served in difficult and often dangerous conditions, supporting security, reconstruction and humanitarian efforts over two decades.

AFGHANISTAN25 is an opportunity to reflect on that service, remember those who lost their lives, and acknowledge the impact on veterans and their families. We also recognise the many Afghanistan veterans who continue their proud legacy of service today – in uniform and across their communities.

On this anniversary, we invite the community to take a moment to remember, reflect and recognise those who served.

Volunteers are at the heart of the Brisbane ANZAC Day Parade each year 🌺​

From assisting with veteran transport to guiding participants and supporting them along the route, their efforts help deliver a day of honour, respect and remembrance. ​

In 2026, there was plenty of ways to take part – whether you're were marching, volunteering, or showing your support from the sidelines. ​

Today, Brisbane came together to honour more than 5,500 veterans and serving personnel at one of the city’s most important civic events, ANZAC Day Parade Brisbane

This year’s parade was led by the Royal Australian Navy which honoured 125 years of service alongside 125 years of the Australian Army.

The parade also marked 110 years since Australia’s very first parade, which took place in Brisbane in 1916, alongside 111 years since the Gallipoli landings.

Across processions, displays, speeches and tributes, together, we recognised the bravery of those who fought in the ANZAC legacy that echoes across generations.

To everyone who joined us today at ANZAC Day Parade Brisbane, thank you.

110 years of remembrance.

Queensland Premier, David Crisafulli MP reflects on more than a century of ANZAC Day parades in Australia, a powerful reminder of the legacy through generations following on from that first parade being held in Brisbane.

🤎 Adelaide Street between George and Creek Street, particularly near the overpass at Post Office Square / ANZAC Square​
🤎 Albert Street, opposite the Saluting Dais on the Grand Ramp at King George Square​

Please note that George Street and Creek Street offer only limited views of participants along the Parade route.​
