Yesterday we introduced you to Duncan, a little orphaned joey who came into came into care after he was found on his deceased mother.

Here is Part 2 of Duncan’s story (so far!):

💚 Duncan's road back to the wild hasn't been a straight one. After spending time in kindy and at Mogill Plantation, he was released near his original home at Kents Lagoon. However, he struggled to settle, remaining in the same tree for a week before carers stepped in.

💚 When rescued, Duncan was suffering from dehydration and reduced gut output, requiring intensive care at RSPCA. Once recovered, he returned to Back to the Bush Koalas for some much-needed pre-release plantation time.

💚 After rebuilding his confidence in a kindy tree, Duncan is now recovering in a specialised rehabilitation plantation, gaining confidence and preparing for another release into the wild.

Hello friends! Introducing... Duncan!💚
Duncan is our June/ July Foster a Koala champion!

Here’s a little of Duncan’s story so far...

Little Duncan was found at only 865 grams, on his mother, who, tragically, was deceased - cause unknown.

Though he didn't have any signs of disease, he was infected with Chlamydia and later underwent treatment for this.

He was in care for months until he reached weight to go to Moggill Koala Rehabilitation Centre. This centre is a rehabilitation facility with a pre-release area for koalas about to return to the wild.

But Duncan’s story didn’t end here... Stay tuned for Part 2 (tomorrow!).

Have you ever met such an adorable duo? 🐨🐨

We haven't! 🥰

And we are so thrilled that this story - the story of Hazel and Caramello - has the happiest of endings.

Both of these orphaned joeys, cared for by High Country Koala Action Group, have defied the odds... they have now been both released back into the wild.

Where they belong.
Among the gumtrees.

And thanks to Kiara and the team at HCKAG for your incredible, tireless love and dedication.

This may be the ending for us human folk, but this is a new chapter for Hazel and Caramello 💚💚
