It’s happening today! LUMINOUS Lantern Parade.

This is more than a light show – this is a moment to come together and celebrate our stories, our people and our culture among others.

Join Falesteen Inc at South Bank Parklands from 5:30pm today, for a march of Palestinian culture and solidarity.

Falesteen inc has created many lanterns with Palestinian designs for you and your children to carry proudly at the march.

Start from Little Stanley Street, ending at Riverside Green. Then the dabke by Al Zaytoun Dabke Troupe will start at 7:15pm at Riveside Green Stage.

Note: there will be other communities participating in the Parade, please try to find Falesteen Inc group in the crowd

Everyone is welcome. We can’t wait to see you there, shining bright.

Marhaba community 🇵🇸

We are joining again this year the Lumimous Lantern Parade as part of the Luminous Festival. We will have a community contingent marching with lanterns that we will build ourselves, and to demonstrate our community's resilience and existence 🍉

This will be followed by a dabka performance by Al Zaytoun Dabka Troupe at the main stage at 7:15pm

We are arranging for a venue to hold a workshop to fabricate Palestinian designed and made lanterns for our children to carry during the parade. This will be on 19 JULY, and we will advertise it soon.

Mark your calendars for:
a) 31JUL'26 at 5pm for the parade and later supporting the dabka troupe
b) 19JUL'26 for the lanterns workshop (details to be announced)

Mahmoud will be running a shawarma truck from 2:00 PM until sold out.

There will also be an ice cream truck on the day — free for kids!

On the same day, we will also be holding our Falesteen Inc. AGM, where members will vote in the new committee.

We would love to see more people from our community get involved. If you are Palestinian living in Queensland and want to help organise events, bring fresh ideas, support our community, and be part of building something meaningful, we encourage you to apply to join the Falesteen Inc. team.

You do not need to have lots of experience — just a genuine heart for the community, willingness to help, and good energy.

Falesteen inc wishes the Palestinian community in Queensland, and all Palestinians across the world a happy Eid Adha.

May it bring with it peace, proseperity and liberation 🇵🇸

Pictured is Al Omari mosque in Gaza (Al Jame'e Al Kabeer), damaged by Israeli airstrikes during the ongoing genocide. This building is almost 2000 years old, and has withstood so many wars and natural disasters, and it is still standing. Same as Palestinians who are still standing against invaders and colonisers across the centuries.
