Voice for Victims Foundation

Voice for Victims Foundation Voice for Victims Foundation is a Queensland-based charity supporting victims of crime to navigate the path forward following a traumatic incident or offence.

Established from earlier victim-led support and advocacy work, we provide compassionate, informed support and practical help to meet immediate needs and guide people through what comes next. This includes assistance to help victims restore safety and stability in period immediately following the incident as well as ongoing support navigating police, insurance, Victims Assist Queensland, courts and

legal processes. Our goal is to support victims toward survivorship — helping people move from crisis and disruption to safety, stability and confidence. VFV has been formed by people with lived experience. We walk alongside victims so they are supported, informed and never left to face recovery alone.

We’re proud to welcome Savannah Taylor as our new Lead Victim Support Specialist.

Savannah brings extensive experience from her recent leadership role working with families bereaved by homicide, where she led statewide programs supporting some of Queensland’s most vulnerable victim-survivors. Her work has been defined by strong stakeholder engagement, strategic leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, trauma-informed support.

At Voice for Victims, Savannah will play a key role in strengthening our mission to deliver gold-standard, victim-centred support, while continuing to provide frontline assistance, helping individuals navigate complex systems, access their rights, and progress through recovery.

Savannah can be contacted on our VFV support line on
07 3497 0819; via email at [email protected] or via our website https://voiceforvictims.org.au/help-support/get-support/

This National Volunteer Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who has been part of the Voice for Victims journey.

Since beginning as a grassroots movement in 2023 and now growing into an established Foundation, we have been supported by incredible people who have generously shared their time, expertise, lived experience and passion for helping others.

From those who have bravely shared their stories, to those who have helped behind the scenes with advocacy, fundraising, events and community awareness - thank you. Your support has helped us build a service dedicated to ensuring victims feel safe, supported and heard.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking to welcome new volunteers who would like to help us fundraise, raise awareness and support our mission.

We are also interested in hearing from people with lived experience of crime who may wish to explore opportunities to support others through peer connection and shared understanding.

Yesterday, the team from Voice for Victims Foundation was proud to be part of a very special celebration hosted by our Principal Partner, Crimsafe, at their Yatala headquarters for the Queensland launch of Australia Made Week and Crimsafe’s 30th Anniversary.

We were grateful for the opportunity to have a stand at the event, where our victim support specialists - Trudy, Jo and Savannah — alongside our co-founder and Chair, Ben Cannon, were able to speak with guests about the work VFV is doing to support victims of crime and raise awareness of our new service.

The team also enjoyed spending some time with the lovely Shelley Craft from The Block.

We are thrilled to partner with Crimsafe — not only a proudly Australian company, but a true Queensland success story with a long-standing commitment to helping people feel safe and secure in their homes.

Congratulations to the entire Crimsafe team on an incredible 30 years in business, and thank you for your support of Voice for Victims Foundation. We wish you continued success for many years to come.

Over the past few months, our team at Margin Media has had the privilege of working alongside the incredible people behind Voice for Victims Foundation to help bring their mission online.

Voice for Victims Foundation helps Queenslanders affected by crime with practical support, clear guidance and a focus on recovery, so no one has to navigate the aftermath alone.

The goal of this project was to create a digital destination where people can quickly find help, access trusted resources, and feel supported from the moment they arrive.

The new platform includes:
• A clear website structure guiding victims to support, resources and self-help information
• Dedicated pathways for donations, volunteering, fundraising and partnerships
• Integrated donation functionality with multiple ways to give
• Simple support request forms designed to reduce confusion during stressful situations
• A modern, accessible interface aligned with the Foundation’s identity

Together, we built a website designed not just to inform, but to genuinely support the people who need it most.
