The Northern Brisbane Chin Community (NBCC) President and Secretary were honoured to meet with Senator Paul today.

It was a valuable opportunity to discuss the growth and development of our community, as well as issues and aspirations concerning the broader Chin community.

We sincerely appreciate Senator Paul's time, interest, and willingness to engage with our community.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Rev. Emil for facilitating and making this important meeting possible.

Building strong networks is essential for growth and achieving our shared goals, and this remains a key priority for our community.

Tonight, the President of the Northern Brisbane Chin Community (NBCC) had the opportunity to participate in the CLG meeting under Multicultural Australia, alongside community leaders and stakeholders.

This engagement provides a valuable platform to strengthen partnerships, share ideas, and work collaboratively towards supporting and empowering our community.

The Northern Brisbane Chin Community (NBCC) is honoured to have participated in the Multicultural Networking Night held at Queensland Parliament House, alongside Jo Nelson (Interim Chief Executive Officer of MA) and Jason-Olsson Seeto( Chief Development Officer) , as well as representatives from diverse cultural communities.

The event provided a valuable platform for meaningful engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, including government representatives, community leaders, and sector professionals. NBCC had the opportunity to connect with Flona Simpson MP (Minister for Women and Women’s Economic Security, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Partnerships and Minister for Multiculturalism) and Rev Emil Rahimov (Director for Ethnic and Multicultural Services from Queensland Baptists-QB), whose contributions to multicultural collaboration and community development are highly regarded.

NBCC extends its sincere appreciation to all organisers and participants for their warm hospitality and for fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. Such initiatives play an important role in strengthening partnerships and advancing the wellbeing and integration of culturally diverse communities.

We are pleased to share that the Northern Brisbane Chin Community has successfully held its first-ever Energy Literacy training, in collaboration with Multicultural Australia.

Our community members were very happy to participate in this important training and were impressed by the valuable knowledge gained on managing energy use and reducing electricity costs.
We sincerely thank Multicultural Australia for organising this workshop, and we also extend our appreciation to all community members for their active participation and engagement.

Community Engagement, Network Building, and Advocacy for the Chin Community in Brisbane’s Northside

NBCC extends heartfelt thanks to Encircle Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre for meeting with us and for promptly offering free access to community-centre space for our activities.

We also thank Carla from Multicultural Australia for arranging and attending the meeting. We look forward to continuing our advocacy and strengthening networks with local communities and council.

Leaders from the Northern Brisbane Chin Community (NBCC) had another opportunity to meet with Multicultural Australia (MA) on 6 June 2025.

During the meeting, we discussed several key issues and explored ways to collaborate in support of our community. NBCC is deeply grateful to Multicultural Australia for their ongoing support and meaningful engagement.

We had a productive meeting with Multicultural Australia(MA), marking the first official discussion since the formation of the Northern Brisbane Chin Community (NBCC).

The meeting focused on exploring avenues for collaboration and integrating supportive approaches to strengthen our joint efforts in serving the community.
