A significant milestone for the IESL Queensland Chapter!

On 30 July 2026, we successfully delivered our first-ever joint CPD event with Engineers Australia Queensland, bringing together more than 260 engineering professionals, including over 220 online participants and around 40 in-person attendees in Brisbane.

The seminar, "Concrete Technologies Enhancing Infrastructure Performance", featured insightful presentations from:

🔹 David Oliveira FIEAust CPEng NER APEC IntPE(Aus) (Aurecon) on fibre reinforced concrete, material characterisation, testing, numerical modelling, and structural applications.

🔹 Jack McLean MIEAust CPEng NER (Freyssinet Remedial Engineering Services) on corrosion management in prestressed concrete and practical strategies for improving infrastructure durability and asset performance.

This event reflects the IESL QLD Chapter's commitment to promoting professional development, knowledge sharing, networking, and stronger engagement with the broader engineering community in Queensland. The strong attendance and positive feedback demonstrate the value of collaboration between professional engineering institutions in advancing engineering excellence.

A sincere thank you to Engineers Australia Queensland, our distinguished speakers, organising committee, and all participants who contributed to the success of this landmark event.
