Adelaide Recreation πŸ™ŒπŸ½

This week, our IYMP Adelaide students took part in a hands-on wellbeing and life skills activity at Helens Mini Worlds in Prospect β€” designing and building their own terrariums.

Guided through the process, students selected their own jars, plants, and materials while learning how to care for their creations long-term.

Beyond the creativity, this activity also built practical skills, with each student working within a set budget and making thoughtful decisions along the way.

Experiences like this are what the Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project is all about β€” supporting young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to build independence, confidence, and real-life skills while away from home.

A great day of learning, creativity, and connection β€” with something meaningful to take home and be proud of. 🌱

Easter at its best 🀩

At our Rockhampton site, staff and participants spent Good Friday at Yeppoon Lagoon leaving Rocky's heat to enjoy the cool weather from the sea.

Everyone enjoyed eating fish and chips, crayfish and easter eggs.
Girls sat around yarning, walks along the beach and music playing. Games were played: 5m touch, kick tennis and 1 touch volley passing.

It was a very relaxing day for everyone that was able to attend.

Easter Monday we celebrated Ciele's 19th birthday which was an absolute blast! We love creating unforgettable memories just like this with our participants. The environment it creates is like no other 🌟

Weekend Recretion 😁

Last weekend our Adelaide crew popped down to explore the the central marekts vitage clothing and food on offer. This is just one of many types of recreational activities that are offerred weekly in the IYMP program. These activities allow our participants to bond and enjoy what their surrounding locations have to offer. The crew sure did have some fun, there will be plenty more of these to come 🌟

Despite a lot going on in the background, Nathan turned up everyday wanting to learn, do better and progress his career and knowledge. His award is very well deserved and goes to show just how much you can achieve when you have a clear path and the desire to achieve.

We're proud of you Nathan and can't wait to see just how much further you progress from here πŸš€

What a night, celebrating Indigenous success! We are so grateful and privileged to be able to put on an event like this. We'd like to thank everyone involved in the preparation of this event and to all who came to celebrate the success of our participants. It truly was a special night for everyone! A big thank you goes out to the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), without your support, none of this would be possible πŸ™ŒπŸ½

We'd also like to say a huge congratulations to all IYMP participants who graduated this year, your hard work is recognized and you all should be more than proud of the accomplishments you have achieved 🌟

As always, we have created an album of photos from the night, you can access it here πŸ‘‡

Last weekend our Adelaide crew got out to see Horizon's, a drone show that takes viewers on a journey from dawn to dusk through the stories of South Australia’s past, present and future.

This was of course one of the designated recreational activities. The type that engage and bring together all of our students. Activities like these lay the foundation for the environment that is created for students in the program πŸ™ŒπŸ½
