TPAA National Secretary Edward Schuller spoke with the ABC following revelations of the QLD Education data breach.

Sensitive data identifying students and teachers across Australia, but particularly in Queensland and Tasmania, has been stolen and is being held at ransom.

Hackers managed to break into the data storage used by the Department of Education, leaving students and teachers worried about their privacy and safety.

The TPAA has long held concerns, and voiced them directly to the department, that the centralisation of services, decision-making, and data by the government would result in not only inefficiency, but data risks.

Who would have thought? The QTU wasting its members' money...

This really shows where their heads are at, but it is just the tip of the iceberg.

Tens of millions of dollars every single year is taken from teachers to fund Left-wing social and political campaigns - as well as executive indulgence.

Teachers deserve better and should not be beholden to this union. Now is the time for competitive unionism!

Yesterday's strike shows the dire need for reform to our education system.

The QLD Government and the QTU have let teachers down. They've proven unable to address the issues entrenched in our schools.

TPAA Secretary Edward Schuller spoke with Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Brisbane about the urgent need for competitive unionism, which will enable more pay for teachers, better student results, and the ability to address the student behaviour crisis.

Today marks 107 years since the signing of the armistice which saw the end of the First World War.

As we reflect on the incredible bravery of the Australian men and women who have fought for our country, we must renew our gratitude for their sacrifices - of which more than 100,000 have made the ultimate one.

Australia's involvement in WW1 is one of great magnitude and bloodshed. A small country just 13 years since federation, Australia answered the call to enter the Great War and more than 62,000 perished - over 1.2% of our total population. More to the point, nearly 15% of all the men that enlisted paid the ultimate price.

To understand the sheer scale of the sacrifices made, that equates to 326,400 dead as a proportion of our population today.

The courage and patriotism of all the men and women who have died for our country has left an indelible mark on our nation's history. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend, and we enjoy the freedoms we have today because of the men and women who have done so.

Let's honour their memory and commemorate their legacy. Lest we forget.

Teachers are being called in to resolve social media conflicts that happen outside school hours. TPAA National President Scott Stanford joined the Today Show this morning to discuss how parents and teachers can work together to address this growing challenge. Teachers want to work with parents, not replace them. Watch the full interview.

The latest EB11 offer has been overwhelmingly rejected by teachers.
Over the past few months, the TPAA has been inundated with calls and emails from Queensland teachers who were worried the QTU wouldn’t negotiate with their best interests at heart. They were right.

The QTU's inability to negotiate now means that other conditions acheived over a long period of time may well be in jeopardy. This is the reality teachers face when choice in representation is not encouraged.

The process now will be a long, adrous one - likely over 12 months - that both the government and the QTU will seek to exploit for their own purposes. But teachers now know the truth: this process is a sham and won't deliver the pay, conditions, and outcomes educators deserve.

This week, we've met with a number of members of the government to further prosecute the case for competitive unionism - we will not rest until your voice is listened to. This is why teachers deserve choice.

Government ministers are now coming out in support for competitive unionism.

Yesterday, Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek responded to us demanding he support a change to legislation to enable us at the TPAQ to register as a union. Teachers deserve choice, and we welcome the Minister's statements.
