💙 EPSS dads, your time has come.

If being a dad came with a position description, it would be extensive.

Essential skills include fixing things, supervising barbecues and assembling furniture without instructions, even when there are five mysterious screws left over.

Regular duties range from school-run chauffeur and bike mechanic to monster hunter, backyard sports commentator and world-class provider of shoulder rides.

The successful applicant must be willing to repeat the same jokes indefinitely, fall asleep halfway through family movies and turn even the simplest job into a trip to Bunnings.

Other responsibilities include coaching from the sidelines, carrying sleeping children from the car and conducting thorough inspections of every cool rock, stick and bug presented for consideration.

The hours are unpredictable, the questions are relentless and the pay is mostly cuddles, but somehow, they keep showing up and giving it everything they’ve got.

Honestly, the EPSS dads and father figures are something special.

So, to celebrate them, we’re giving away this fantastic Father’s Day hamper, kindly donated by Tracy Davis MP! 🎁

To enter, finish this sentence:

💙 “You know you’re a parent when…”

Make it funny, sweet or completely crazy. We want to hear it!

And mums, this isn’t just for the dads to enter themselves. Share your answer below and tag an EPSS dad or father figure who deserves a little spoiling this Father’s Day.

Winner announced Wednesday, 2 September. 💙
