Our mission is to ensure no Veteran is left navigating life after service alone.

We are a registered charity organisation supporting Veterans, their families, and transitioning ADF members with tailored services, advocacy, and career pathways. Salute for Service is a registered charity committed to supporting Australian Veterans, their families, and those transitioning out of the Australian Defence Force. We provide personalised support across a range of areas including:

ntal health and wellbeing support
• Advocacy and DVA navigation
• Employment and career transition assistance
• Connection to community and peer networks

Whether you're just leaving Defence, have been out for years, or are supporting someone who served, we’re here to walk alongside you. With staff on the ground in multiple locations — including Townsville — and more centres planned, our team is growing to meet the needs of the Veteran community across Australia. Defence life can mean frequent moves, disrupted schooling and emotional stress for children.

Through our Legacy Learning tutoring program, we provide personalised academic support tailored to each child’s interests and learning style.

We’ve seen children who were years behind academically catch up and then continue progressing with confidence.

But it’s not just about grades. It’s about:

One of the biggest challenged veterans face after service is the loss of community.

Our social programs are designed to rebuild that sense of belonging by creating safe, supportive spaces where veterans and families can connect, share experiences and grow together.

From peer support gatherings and workshops to family-focused activities, these programs:

✔️ Build confidence in civilian life

On 31st March, we commemorate the formation of the Royal Australian Air Force in 1921 ✈️

For over a century, the RAAF has proudly defended our skies, supported peacekeeping missions, and contributed to humanitarian efforts at home and abroad.

Today, we honour their service, courage, and commitment to protecting Australia and its people.

This Earth Hour, we pause together 🌏

On 28th march at 8:30pm, Australians will switch off their lights for one hour to reflect on the importance of protecting our planet.

At Salute for Service, community is at the heart of everything we do and that includes caring for the environment we all call home.

Service is about responsibility.
It's about standing for something bigger than ourselves.

Earth Hour is a simple reminder that collective action, even something as small as turning off a light, can create a meaningful impact.

We honour the courage and dedication of the Australian Defence Force members who served, and the sacrifices made by their families. Their commitment to duty, often in the most challenging conditions, is a testament to the resilience and spirit of our service community.

For many veterans, losing their purpose can be one of the hardest parts of life after service. We were recently brought in to support a veteran who was living an unsafe and unhealthy environment.

We worked alongside our incredible partners , Operation Unity SA and Open Arms - Veterans & Families Counselling to bring the right people together and create real change. Because of this project, the veteran can now remain in his own home he built with his mother. 🏡

Meet Mollie ✨

After serving 11 years in the Army as a clerk, Mollie now supports veterans through Salute for Service. After experiencing life in service firsthand, she understands how important a community is and that finding that purpose can help get you back on your feet.

Through our programs like Combat to Career, we help veterans connect with the right people. Whether that’s support with CVs, career pathways, or figuring out their next step.
