$6,020 reasons to say THANK YOU! 💚

We were absolutely thrilled to recently receive a cheque for $6,020 from Brisbane Pre-Loved Fashion Markets & Rent A Rack Boutique - money raised through their wonderful markets and their ongoing support of the Morningside School of Arts.

Every dollar makes a real difference in helping us care for our fabulous 100-year-old community hall. 🏡💚

This incredible contribution is helping fund some very important projects, including a brand-new access path and the installation of hot water, as well as supporting the events, activities and fundraising that keep the Mornsie at the heart of our local community.

We are so grateful to the Love Me Again team, their stallholders, volunteers and everyone who comes along and shops at their markets. Your bargain hunting is helping keep the Mornsie going! 🥰

And speaking of bargain hunting…

We’re looking forward to revealing the completed mosaic totem poles to all you wonderful people! 💕🎨

But in the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek at a couple of the gorgeous doggos on the Morningside Vets pole 🐶🐾 — including a neighbourhood pooch who was the inspiration for one of the designs!

And look closely… Debra Hood’s mother’s white wedding plate has also found a new life in this beautiful creation. ❤️

Isn’t it wonderful to think that a treasured piece of family history can be immortalised in mosaic and permanently admired here at the Mornsie?

We can’t wait to show you the finished poles! ✨

Many hands make magnificent mosaics! 🎨❤️

What a fabulous day at The Mornsie, with our wonderful crew of volunteers busy bringing our Centenary Mosaic Totems to life.

There was cutting, gluing, puzzling over just the right piece, plenty of chatting and laughing — and a fair bit of sticky mess! 😄

Each totem is completely different and is slowly being covered with colourful little stories, images and details. We absolutely LOVE seeing them take shape.

But the best part is that they’re being created by so many hands. These aren’t just mosaics — they’re a little snapshot of our community, made together inside our beautiful old hall.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has rolled up their sleeves and contributed. 💛
100 years of community at The Mornsie… and we’re creating something together for the next 100.
Thankyou to Eyedeal Optometrist for dropping in again with a basket of goodies to thank our amazing mosaic volunteers! Oh and did I mention they are donating another $500 for their Eye Spy mosaic pole? We are grateful! 👀😍

A little more colour at the Mornsie 💕🌸

After 100 years of celebrations, we’re pretty sure this was a first for the Mornsie - a beautiful pre-wedding haldi ceremony!

The hall and grounds were filled with colour, music, laughter and love as this happy couple gathered with family and friends ahead of their wedding day. 💛

We absolutely love seeing the Mornsie transformed for celebrations like this - and seeing our grand old dame become part of such special memories.

Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, engagement, family gathering or something completely your own, the Mornsie is ready to be your blank canvas. ✨

Thinking about holding your next celebration somewhere a little bit special? We’d love to have you here.

The Morningside School of Arts - a community hall with 100 years of stories, ready to be part of yours. ❤️

Another morning on the mosaic poles! 🌺

Today the team took the poles outside, working under the trees not far from where they’ll eventually be permanently erected — and what a lovely way to spend the morning.

A big thank you to Belinda Ward, Christine Cameron, Leeanne Horne, Brenda, Judy and Maree for helping bring the mosaics to life. 💕

They were working on the doctorsatmorningside pole and the Morningside School of Arts Native Flowers pole. 🌸

And a special shout-out to Annie Gardiner Art, who has been busy sanding all the caps ready for the next stage. 👏

Expecting a big run-out tomorrow, Saturday as we get closer and closer to seeing these beautiful poles in their permanent home!

Hope to see you here as the Mornsie magic continues… ✨
