We’re delighted to shine a spotlight on local artist Megan Stanley!

Megan Stanley Art ..Megan's artistic practice centres on landscapes and natural scenes, brought to life through expressive, impressionistic techniques. Using colour, light, shade and movement, she creates vivid, bold artworks that capture the essence and atmosphere of a place.

Her paintings invite us to look beyond the brushstrokes and connect with a moment in time - where colour and paint bring a familiar landscape to life.

Come along to our Christmas Art Market on December 6th to meet Megan, discover her beautiful work and support the wonderful talent in our local creative community. We’d love to see you there! 💛✨

Two exciting ways to spend the school holidays with Young Engineers! 🚀

From LEGO® STEM engineering to hands-on arts and crafts, our holiday camps are packed with creativity, discovery and fun!

Every camp day brings something new! With different LEGO® builds and engineering challenges across December and January, kids can join us for multiple days without repeating the same experience!

🤖 STEM Robotics LEGO® Camp

Kids build motorised LEGO® models, tackle engineering challenges and develop problem-solving, teamwork and confidence as they test and improve their creations.

✨ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | Meekz Contemporary Jewellery ✨

We’re delighted to introduce another of the talented creatives joining us at the Mornsie Christmas Art Market on Sunday 6 December! 🎄💍

Meet Jemica Ostrofski, Brisbane-based silversmith and the artist behind Meekz Contemporary Jewellery.

A First Class Honours graduate in Fine Art (Gold and Silversmithing) from the Queensland College of Art, Jemica creates minimalist, sculptural jewellery inspired by the natural and urban environments around us.

With a thoughtful, environmentally conscious approach, she works primarily with recycled and repurposed materials, combining traditional silversmithing techniques to transform everyday materials into beautiful, wearable art.

And if you’ve ever fancied trying your hand at jewellery making, Jemica is also an experienced workshop facilitator, sharing her skills through hands-on sessions across South East Queensland since 2014.

We can’t wait to see her beautiful creations at the Mornsie! ❤️

🎉 TWO NIGHTS, TWO VERY SPECIAL MORNsie EVENTS! 🎉

The 13th and 14th of November are shaping up to be a couple of big nights at our beloved Mornsie, and we’d love you to join us!

📚 FRIDAY 13 NOVEMBER | 7PM

First up is the much-anticipated launch of 100 Years, Hundreds of Stories - a very special book celebrating the people, memories and moments that have shaped our dear old hall over the past century.

We’re thrilled to have The House Detective as our MC for this wonderful occasion as we celebrate the stories that make the Mornsie so special.

🧠 SATURDAY 14 NOVEMBER | DOORS OPEN 6.30PM, TRIVIA FROM 7PM

Then it’s time to put those thinking caps on for our one and only Trivia Night of the year! 🤓

Round up your cleverest friends, book a table of eight or grab an individual ticket and come along for a night of quizzical fun, drinks, snacks and plenty of laughs - all while helping us raise funds to care for our fabulous community hall.

🏺🌸 Artist Spotlight🌸🏺

Juliet van Oirschot is a ceramicist based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, land of the Yugambeh people. Now in her third age she has thrown herself into the world of ceramics, and experiments with style and form. She makes furiously, quickly and moves from technique to technique. The learning curve has been steep and her desire to continue to experiment means she has as yet to be constrained by a particular style. Her works range from functional to decorative, earrings, boxes, totems and sculptural pieces. Her work is informed by references to her homeland and ongoing interests of painting, developing and maintaining a large garden and occasional needlework. Juliet works predominantly in midfire clays and a variety of finishes.

We are so excited to see what Juliet, Juliet van Oirschot has in store for us at our Christmas Art Market on December the 6th. Looking forward to seeing you there ✨🧡

It’s time to round up your cleverest (or most entertaining 😉) friends and get your team together for our Mornsie Trivia Night!
