You'll find us at schools, Schoolies/Leavers, unis, music festivals, skate parks, and sports events! The โRed Frogsโ program started in 1997 when youth worker Andy Gourley walked into a hotel room at Schoolies on the Gold Coast (Australia) carrying a bag of Red Frog lollies as an ice-breaker to connect with the young people. At the time he was simply dropping in to look after a bunch of boys that
were in his skating group. Little did he know, the bag that was grabbed randomly from a local corner store would grow to 18 tonnes of Allens Red Frogs & 5000 global volunteers from over 1000 networks of community and church groups. These volunteers continue to provide vital support for young people not only in Australia but also in New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom. Our mission remains the same across the globe; to combat a culture that is largely dominated by alcohol and other substances, often leading to dangerous and life-altering behaviours for young people. The aim of the Red Frog programs is to provide a positive peer presence in alcohol-fuelled environments where young people gather, educate young people on safe partying behaviours, and promote and provide alcohol-free and/or diversionary activities that engage young people in these environments.โ
