What does it mean to truly know someone, and to allow ourselves to be known?

Our fourth Classical Night School session will explore these questions through C. S. Lewis’s Till We Have Faces, a novel that invites us to reflect on self-knowledge, truth, and our relationships with others.

“𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝙏𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙒𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨”

The session will be presented by 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, Principal of St John Henry Newman College, a classical Catholic school in Brisbane. His interests lie at the intersection of philosophy, culture, and literature, particularly early modern theatre. His doctoral research examined the interplay of humoralism, demonology, and meteorology in the plays of Shakespeare and Webster.

Term 4 is always a busy season at the Academy. Alongside the usual work of teaching and learning, preparations are already underway for the year ahead.

The Academy will significantly grow in 2027 and we are preparing for a signficiant increase in students. From essential maintenance and purchasing furniture and learning resources to welcoming new staff, there is much to be done to ensure we are ready to receive both our returning and new families in 2027.

We are grateful to our donors whose generosity helps make this work possible. As we prepare for another year of growth, we ask you to support the Academy and help us provide an environment where our students can continue to grow in wisdom, virtue and eloquence.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆

Today during the Divine Liturgy at the Academy, we celebrated the protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The Fool for Christ Saint Andrew and his disciple, Epiphanios, during the all-night vigil saw the Mother of God descend from heaven and pray over the church and spread out her veil over the church protecting them from their enemies both visible and invisible and imploring her son to attend to the prayers of the people.

Following liturgy students were able to venerate the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos and a ribbon that has been blessed by her belt from Mount Athos.

This day is a reminder that the Mother of God is our greatest intercessor and protector and that she never ceases to pray for us and the Church.

Most Holy Theotokos pray to God for us.

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝟰!

Our classrooms are full again as we begin the final term of the year, with eager minds ready for another season of learning, friendship and growth.

We thank God for the opportunity to continue guide our students to grow in wisdom, virtue and eloquence and to grow closer to God.

Term 4 will be a busy one and preparations are under way for the end of year concert in December!

May God bless our students, teachers and families with a joyful and fruitful Term 4!

🌸 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🌸

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟮 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 at Tryon Street Park!

It was a wonderful day and we are very grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a joyful occasion.

We were kept entertained with cultural dancing, bbq and waffles, facepainting and a petting zoo which featured a very cute black piglet who was the star of the show!

We are also very pleased to share that we were able to raise $𝟲,𝟮𝟬𝟬 during the Spring Fair. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and helped make this possible.
