Next week Tuesday we’re running 2 dance workshops.

Held at Backbone Arts 28 Tallowwood Street Seven Hills, QLD (near Morningside)
🅿️ parking is available on site

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

Designed for an all inclusive dance workshop experience for everyone to come along to enjoy!

No dance experience is required!

Led By Mitch Currie

kids only (3:30pm-4:30pm) is a fun session for play dance, animal imitation, and storytelling through movement.

Opens 16+ (5:15pm - 6:15pm) more of a tailored and guided choreographically oriented session, focused on phrases and contemporary dance techniques with cultural elements, in a fun supportive environment.

Kids $15pp
Opens $20pp

Arrive 5-10mins before session, Pay on arrival.

Coordinate with your schools as the Creative Generation Nominations are now open for 2024!!

Our program proudly offers First Nations Identifying QLD state schools students (primarily & secondary) the experience of a lifetime, where Culture, education and the performancing arts meet.

Through our unique style of Aboriginal contemporary fusion dance they will gain industry knowledge, build confidence, strengthen cultural identity and gain a sense of community as they learn and grow with other like minded First Nations state schools students from all across QLD.

Our First Nations dance Ensemble is an opportunity where ALL are welcome who complete the nomination process are invited to take part in this experience!! In addition for those who are seeking to take their dancing abilities to the next level we have our First Nations dance company!! And for that there’s an added digital video audition process which is then subject for selection, to be considered please submit a 3-5min solo dance video accompanying your schools nomination. (Previous dance training non-essential)

Pleased to announce that Nalingurrie Projects will be performing the opening number for this years Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carol’s! On the 2nd Dec at the Brisbane city Riverstage!

After the Welcome to Country, this years item will Feature an all First Nations Youth dance ensemble, performing to a contemporary version of a Yuggera Language Song “Yuggera Djarra-na”.

The show will also will be broadcasted live on channel 9!
