We’ll be volunteering with Little Kings Movement on Sunday, the 29th of March for a day of fellowship, gardening, and good conversations 💛

We’ll be spending the day chatting and hanging out with members of the disability community, and also helping with their working bee to restore and care for their garden.

Please note that no gardening experience is needed, just come along with a willing heart! You do have the option to decide whether you want to help out inside by just chatting with everyone or helping with the working bee project in their garden!

Day’s Schedule:
• Gardening volunteers arrive: 8:00am
• Fellowship volunteers arrive: 9:30am
• Morning Tea: 9:30am
• Mass: 11:00am
• Lunch: 11:45am
• Finish: 2:30pm

If you’re interested in coming along, please let us know so we can add you to the group chat😊💚💚

🌟Yew! It’s not every day you get a pic with the Archbishop!
Last week we got to represent young people interested in the work of social justice — hearing launch of the Australian Bishops Conference & their 2026 focus on the cost of living Crisis facing roughly 1 in 3 Australians today.

We can come together as a Church to support each other and care for those struggling on our Brisbane Streets.

💫Through our connections with Rosies, Little Kings and MOC we meet the faces of those most affected and vulnerable to this economic Crisis.
To do as Christ calls us to care for him in the poorest of the poor 🤲🏻

You are invited to the Brisbane Launch of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference’s 2026
Social Justice Statement, titled “The Cost of Our Living: Economic and Social Justice for the Common Good”, to be launched by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay.
A reflection will be presented by Trish McMahon; current state president of St Vincent de Paul Society. Her 13 years of service with the Society have given her a deeper understanding of the need of those marginalised in our communities.
The ACBC will be releasing two Social Justice Statements each year meaning this has now become a bi-annual event that brings together iustice advocates from around the Archdincese in a spirit of hope, collegiality and encouragement. St James’ Parish hosts a generous supper, However, if you are unable to attend in person, there will be live streaming.

Gold coin donations are welcome for a Coorparoo St Vincent de Paul collection.

Yesterday we had our Nursing Home Christmas Carols event and gosh wasn’t it precious 🥹🤩The joy we got to see on the residents faces was absolutely incredible 🎄Visiting St Vincents Corinda and Canossa Oxley

Monash university recently did a study to find that, between 35 to 61 per cent of residents feel lonely to extreme loneliness.

Thats why it was so important for us💗

One of our other amazing volunteers got together over 80 hand written Christmas cards for the residents which was so appreciated🎁

🌟Thankyou to all that joined us or wrote a card! 🌟

Merry Christmas from the Compassion Network! 🤗

🌟We just had our second volunteer night tonight! 🌹Doing the simple work of being ‘friends on the street. Handing out warm drinks and food to whoever needs it- but most of all a friendly face and a ear to listen. ☕️👂🏼

Rosies is a wonderful Catholic based organisation that operates all around Queensland and we’re so excited to work with them more in 2026.

🗓️🌟Our 2026 dates are out- so if you, your friends or your ministry would like to volunteer for a night let us know the date that works for you! :) Get in quick.

There is such a need for Christ on the street- and we’re so thankful to our volunteers who were the smiling face of Christ to those in need.

Incredible work today from The Compassion Network team! We partnered with and hosted a packing party for this year’s Christmas Drive 💝

In total we raised $395 in funds and with all the extra physical generous donations we were able to make:

5 x Mums & Bubs bags
6 x Teen bags
15 x Adult bags

Totalling to 26 bags! 👛

A special thank you to Kate Francis for coming out from Share The Dignity to support our packing party and to provide some insight into all the amazing work being done behind the scenes!

And a greater thank you to all who made this possible whether it was donating in person, giving financially or volunteering their time. We want to give a big shoutout to: Emma, Dina, Maria, Valentina, Evelyn, Nina, Tenika, Michelle, Serena, Jess, Claire, Megan and Taylor. This act of generosity has made a huge difference in the lives of so many women this Christmas 💕

We can’t wait to do it again next year!
