Centenary Stake Missionary Elder Setu goes viral on ! 🌏

We had to share this one!

Elder Setu from Spring Mountain Ward, currently serving in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission, recently made an unexpected appearance on IShowSpeed’s stream — taking on the challenge of lifting the famous $10K cube!

After Elder Setu manages to lift it, Speed can be heard saying, “It must be the Australian in him!” 🇦🇺😂

But our favourite part is seeing Elder Setu there in his missionary badge, representing the Saviour while simply being himself.

And if you look closely, you’ll also spot Elder Nuku among the missionaries standing by, with a Book of Mormon in hand, and watching!

We love seeing our Centenary Stake missionaries out across the world sharing the gospel and the Lord’s light — sometimes in ways we definitely didn’t see coming! ❤️

Keep shining, Elders. Even when the mission field unexpectedly meets a viral livestream.

🎉Happy Birthday President Togia! 🎉

We loved hearing a little more about President Togia during the Q&A panel at our recent Adult Session.

He shared how, as a newly returned missionary, Sister Togia caught his eye. He followed her to her ward and noticed the way she welcomed and served others and the Christlike way she treated those around her. He remembers wondering what kind of man he could become standing beside someone like her.

Sister Togia quickly chimed in that some might call that “stalking” 😂 while President Togia preferred to call it “observing Christlike consistency and studying spiritual behaviour!”

Eight months after returning home from his mission, they were married. ❤️

We loved hearing this little story and getting a glimpse into the fun and love they share.

Wishing President Togia a very Happy Birthday! We hope you have a wonderful day with your family and those you love.

Words from Stake Conference

We are so grateful for the tender hearts of those who spoke and shared their personal testimonies of how they have been strengthened through the Lord Jesus Christ.

From our youngest and very brave speaker, William, who began our Sunday session and set such a sweet tone, to hearing from our new Brisbane Australia South Mission President, Greg Trimble, and Sister Kristyn Trimble. They reminded us that our souls hunger for the Lord, that He is the Bread of Life, and that we need to disconnect from the distractions of the world and reconnect with Jesus Christ.

Stake President Pene closed our conference reflecting on the growth and recent changes across our Stake and the exciting times ahead. His message was also deeply personal:

“Brothers and sisters, lately I have had feelings of the need for you and I to prepare to meet Jesus Christ.”

He reminded us that preparing for the Lord’s Second Coming also means strengthening our families and becoming more like the Saviour in the way we see and care for others.

Jesus Christ noticed the overlooked. He welcomed the rejected. He sat with those others avoided. He saw worth where others saw weakness, and He loved even His enemies.

The Saviour doesn’t just see crowds. He sees individuals.

President Pene left us with a question worth carrying with us:

“Who around me might Christ be asking me to notice?”

There is a place for you here. Whether you have been with us for years, are finding your way back, or are simply looking for somewhere to connect and belong, you are welcome among us.

“Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.” — D&C 18:10

Sunday General Session | 16 August 2026

We hope you enjoyed Stake Conference and pray that you will treasure the impressions and feelings you received throughout the conference weekend.

A heartfelt thank you to every single one of you, who shared their musical talents with us during Stake Conference.

Our Sunday General Session began with a reverent prelude from our string duo, August Brown on cello and Nicole Davie on violin. Their music welcomed members and visitors as they gathered in, followed by our Young Women quartet singing so sweetly.

We are deeply grateful to our Stake Young Women’s Choir and their leaders. Your tireless efforts, preparation and commitment over the last few months were greatly appreciated. Your music helped set the tone and invite the Spirit into our conference.

For their final hymn, the Bishoprics from across the Stake joined the choir to sing 🎵 “Jesus Is the Way,”🎵 including the Tongan verse. ❤️

Thank you again to all who gave their time and talents to help build Zion here in the Great Brisbane Centenary Stake!

Whether you joined us for Stake Conference, are returning after some time away, or would simply like to visit, we hope you will always feel welcome among us.

As Stake President Pene said, “there is only one team, and that is the Lords team! One Church! One Family!

Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come!”

We would love to see you again.

💛 Service in Action 💛

On Saturday the 1st of August, our Centenary Stake Young Men spent the morning serving at the Karingal Scout Campsite, helping to remove invasive lantana weeds that threaten native plants, live stock, and the surrounding environment.

John, the Scout Leader and caretaker of the campsite, volunteers countless hours maintaining the grounds. He was deeply grateful for the willingness of our youth to give up their Saturday to serve and make a meaningful difference.

Centenary Stake Young Men President Tommy Setu wanted to thank our young men, leaders, parents, and BBQ team for their time, efforts and service.
