gement with their children. Parenting by Connection was developed by Patty Wipfler of the Hand in Hand organisation, over more than 35 years. The approach is consistent with the findings from wide-ranging research, including the most recent brain research. It is also supported by research such as that conducted by ETR (Education Training Research) Associates in 2004 which revealed that a close parent-child connection is the "super-protective" factor influencing whether children emerge into adulthood without major involvement in drugs, violence, early pregnancy or school failure. The research by ETR Associates also revealed that the Parenting by Connection program is one of only a few that effectively connects parents and children and provides this super protective factor. Since Community Transformations began delivering its Parenting by Connection programs in 2004, it has made a difference in the lives of thousands of parents, children and extended family members, as well as professionals.
