Well what a morning we had! Great to see the school running group powering through the course while the more genteel folk took a more steady approach πŸ˜„. Many of the walkers with their dog pals also enjoying the morning. Great weather for both running at pace or just ambling along.
We thank our volunteers for once again assisting to make this a good time for all those who came along. We have been able again through generosity with fundraising to give our support to Legacy WA.
We would also like to thank Bridgetown Rotary for allowing us again to make use of their equipment and also Bridgetown Newsagents , Bridgetown Barber, Squisito, FATS, Bridgetown Club, wattleseed cafe for advertising the event which appears to be growing with increased participation.
Small steps to a healthy life, don't forget to set your alarm for next year! πŸ˜‰πŸƒ

Important change in start time for event!!
Hi runners/ walkers and walkers with dog pals. Only 2 sleeps to go!! We have had to alter the start time for the Run Army event as the Classic Car show vehicles are also going to be there and will be departing from the river park at what would have been the same time we kicked off (8:30am).
The first loop of the course would have found us both on the same internal road as the cars were leaving the park.
In the interest of safety it has been decided to set back our start time to be after the classic cars have departed the river park.
Now there will also be an issue with car parking on the hard bitumen marked car bays as 40 classic cars are expected to be in that area.
So, when you arrive by car (unless you are getting some extra exercise by walking to the park, good on you! πŸ’ͺ ).
It may be best to park on the dirt areas where people park on market days. You can also park in the parking bay just before the bridge coming from town on the right and then have a warmup walk to the start point in the grassed area of the park near the toilets.
The forecast is for mainly sunny with a few cloudy periods getting to 20 degrees on Sunday 19th April.
So, a small change to starting at 9am instead of 8:30, and we also have a 2.5km turn around point on the same course for those who have little ones or are just feeling like you should have stayed in bed! 😴 (see the map)
No need to register for this satellite event, just turn up looking trim and terrific. Its about coming together supporting Legacy WA, maybe making a few changes and getting healthy. Have some family time together as well.
This year run Army recognises service dogs working with members of the ADF.
If you do come early and have an interest in classic cars why not have a look. But remember start time is now 9am!!
We run or walk come rain, hail, shine or classic car event!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€πŸ˜‰πŸ•

Hi runners/ walkers and walkers with dog pals. We have had to alter the start time for the Run Army event as the Classic Car show vehicles are also going to be there and will be departing from the river park at what would have been the same time we kicked off (8:30am).

It may be best to park on the dirt areas where people park on market days. You can also park in the parking bay just before the bridge coming from town on the right and then have a warmup walk to the start point in the grassed area of the park near the toilets.
On the upside the forecast is for mainly sunny with a few cloudy periods getting to 21 degrees on Sunday 19th April.
So, a little hiccup but I know your enthusiasm will see you through. Remember we also have a 2.5km turn around point on the same course for those who have little ones or are just feeling like you couldn’t take another step! πŸ₯΅
We hope you’re not deterred by this change and if you do come early and have an interest in classic cars why not have a look. But remember start time is now 9am!! (extra time for a little lay in).
We run or walk come rain, hail, shine or classic car event!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€πŸ˜‰πŸ•
