Southern Highlands Bee Club โ€“ Winter Preparations
Today we packed down the hives ready for the colder months. The before and after photos show the apiary as we checked brood strength, confirmed the hives were queen right.
Removed excess supers, and secured everything for winter.
A solid team effort to keep our bees safe through the season.

Club Field Day, examining the hives for Varroa and returning the hive orientation as the the NUC colony project has completed.
Note the field bees soon worked out where the entrerance was and marched around the box to deliver their goodies.
Varroa test was negative across all hives, which was a good result.
Next step will be to harvest the honey.
