On Monday we had the very special honour of presenting the Margot Louise Carre- Riddell named Scholarship to Amber. ✨

Amber is a very deserving recipient of this award demonstrating excellence, determination, independence and a vision for her pathway post secondary school.

Thank you to Malcolm Carre-Riddell who represented the family as fierce champions of ECF and the incredible difference our scholarships make in the lives of young people in Boroondara.

What makes a student eligible for an Education CHANCES Scholarship?

✅ Be between the ages of 12 and 18 years
✅ Live or study in Boroondara
✅ Attend a Government School (or Tertiary Institution)
✅ Be receiving Centrelink payments and have a Health Care Card (family or individually if over 18)
✅ Be nominated by a teacher at their school (except for Tertiary Students)
✅ Academically be performing at standard or above in most subjects at their year level
✅ Be attending school (or tertiary institution) regularly
✅ Be interested and committed to their learning

Wonderful feedback from Camberwell High School! 👏

"Over the years, Education CHANCES Foundation (ECF) has made an incredible difference in the lives of students at Camberwell High School through its education scholarships. It is difficult to fully express the impact this support has had—not only on the students but on their families and our school community.

Thanks to these scholarships, students have gained access to essential educational resources, including brand-new laptops, uniforms, and learning materials. They have also been able to participate in enriching extracurricular activities such as music programs—opportunities that would have otherwise been out of reach. This support has given our students the confidence to engage fully in their education and to pursue pathways beyond school that they may never have considered possible.

The benefits extend beyond the classroom. For families, these scholarships ease the financial burden of providing educational resources, and the gratitude we hear from them is immense. From the perspective of school administration, working with ECF has been a seamless and positive experience. The Foundation is exceptionally well run, and the partnership has been invaluable.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration in the future and extend our heartfelt thanks to ECF for the life-changing support provided to our students."
