Term 1 for Bluewater is all about cooking and campcraft. Each week the different sections are taking a turn with cooking meals on a gas stove and over the fire. Last week joeys cooked chicken carbonara on the gas stove but this week they made valentines cards. First section of Cubs took a turn at cooking on the gas stove and made pancakes whilst the other Cubs checked out tents, stretchers gazebos. The scouts set up big tents and played word games.

As my time in scouting comes to an end tonight I just want to thank the leaders and parents who have helped along the way. I am so proud of bluewater and how far the group has come in 9 years where we started with about 10kids then 5 then I think 3 at one stage to now 30 odd youth members It was hard. We have had some trying times (covid) and some really fun times. I've seen so many youth members grow and come so far. Scouting has been a huge part of my life . I have made some life long friends in scouts and if you see me in the shop please don't be a stranger and say hi. Take care and happy scouting. 😊 Rosella Tash Abraham

Bluewater Scout Group would like to advise that we now have a wait list to join our group as we are currently operating at maximum capacity for the number of leaders we have available. Once we are able to on board additional leaders we will advise those who are on the wait list. We encourage any parent or persons who are interested in becoming a leader with us to please send the group a message or see us on a Wednesday night at the den. Anyone wanting to join the wait list please message the group with you name, youths age, and a contact phone number. Thanks kindly.

The leaders and I have had a talk and with how wet and boggy the grounds are at the den and more rain forecasted we will have to wait till next week. Sorry we are keen to start the year.

I don’t know if the scouts give out badges for being a bloody legend, but I’d be recommending Connor for one! He’s been filling sandbags for strangers since 9am this morning! A big shoutout to him and everyone else who’s helped their neighbours today. These events always bring out the best in our city. 😍
