Well what a surprise!, but half expected… ..
Who in 1930 in Australia would have the money to buy a Humber Limo Snipe, with Thrupp & Maperly body & Chauffer partition and a little liquor cabinet .. and why did it spend 12 years in a Museum with all its original A1 Blueprints and then... 40 years in a Shed/Barn..?
Well I decided to pay the AOMC for their access to a search of the …Vic. Police Motor Registration Branch, Road Traffic Authority, & VicRoads… of all their Micro fish records.
Not Only have they found out that my Humber (new project car ) was a “Vice Regal” car, but they have even sent me copies of these Micro fish slides.. for concrete proof.
It was registered as a Vice regal car up until 1946, and then transferred to private registration HK-242
Prior to 1946 it either had no number plate or just a crown at the front. ...similar to the one's below. It was believed to be a collection of Lord Huntingfield. (Governor General of Vic)
