Chittering-Bindoon CWA

15/10/2026

On Saturday 17th, the Chittering Bindoon CWA will have their meeting room in the Bindoon Hall open for the public to visit during the Bindoon Show. We'll have members there from 10.00 - 4.00, so you can browse over our craft items and purchase freshly baked cakes, slide and cookies! Our cooking skills are pretty good (even if we say so ourselves), so buy a treat for yourself when you visit. See you on Saturday!!!

This week is Women's Health Week - time to reflect on our own health and well-being. In the busyness of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook how we're going within ourselves - our body, our mind, everything that makes us who we are. So - are you up to date with medical check-ups? Making time to relax doing something you enjoy? Making time to enjoy the company of family and friends? We are the only person who can take responsibility for ourselves, so think about how to ensure you're in good shape, in every way!

We're a day late with this, but yesterday was International Charity Day. We do lots of things to serve the needs of others in our community and beyond. We know most, if not all CWA branches do the same. Charity is a word that can make us cringe a little, but it's about what's in your heart when you serve someone else's needs. A gift from the heart, whether it's a smile to acknowledge another or a physical gift of some kind, matters more than anything. Charity is about what's happening inside us, not just what we give to another.

This morning the Chittering Bindoon CWA members and friends welcomed members of the CWA Gidgegannup branch, who came for a knitting lesson! One of our friends, Vera, is a fabulous knitter who does magic things with knitting needles. Her knitted rugs are very popular because of the turn she does within each square so the stitches sit diagonally against each other (check the photo). So the CWA Gidgegannup women wanted to learn how to do this, and 10 of them came along this morning for Vera to show them. Sharing skills is all part of the camaraderie CWA is renowned for!!!

Hi everyone! Our August meeting will be held on Tuesday 25th August at 10.00am. If you're thinking about joining the CWA, please feel welcome to come along. In addition to the meeting, our members and friends will be together in our meeting room for our usual cuppa, chat and craft morning. You don't need to be a member to come along to this, just someone who loves making craft items and/or who would like to buy something special for themselves or special person in their life. See you on Tuesday!
