Today I’m at Little State Beach AU-9848 on the Coffs Coast between Grafton and Woolgoolga. I’ll be on 40 and 15 meters between 0400 and 0600 UTC today, Friday 4 September 2026.

I have the IC-7300 running on a JPC-12, 2.5 metre coiled vertical.

I’ll spot on POTA dot app and PnP when I’m I’m up and running.

This is an interesting look at radio from a Millennials perspective. I was a in the 70’s and 80’s. I marvelled at the amazing sounds coming from around the world to this little Sony table radio in my bedroom on Sydney’s northern beaches. Today, shortwave isn’t what it used to be due to the Internet and satellites. Today my focus is on . Nonetheless, I still spend some time, twiddling the dial and listen to interesting news, stories and music from far away places. It sparked a lifelong interest in the world.

That was a nice day at Gladstone State Forest AU-7733 on the Coffs Coast. It was the first time the park had been activated. I was at 450 metres, sunshine and 20 degrees.

Today I’m at Gladstone State Forest AU-7733 on the Coffs Coast. I’ll be on 40 and 15 meters between 0200 and 0400 UTC today, Sunday 30 August 2026.

This is the inaugural activation of this park. I’m am at Mount Gladstone at about 450 metres which is 150 meters below the peak.

I have the IC-7300 running on an 5.2 metre vertical for 15 meters and a vertical v-dipole on 40.

I’ll spit on POTA dot app and PnP when I’m I’m up and running.

This afternoon (Saturday AUS time) I am at Pine Creek State Forest AU-7709. I’m up on Tower Road looking west up the Bellinger River Valley and east over the Pacific Ocean. I’ll be in 40 and 15 between 0445 and 0615. I’ll post on PnP and POTA dot app. 73’s

August has been bumper month for Amateur Radio on the Mac, iPad, iPhone, and web. Development and refinements really seem to have picked up ahead of exciting announcements coming from Apple over the next few months with new hardware and the annual rollout of the updated operating systems.

It was a great day at Mylestom State Beach AU-11194 on the Coffs Coast. The bluest of skies and 20 degrees. I also had my first voice/ssb/phone QSO with Japan (in addition to 2 x FT8 QSO). It was on 15 metres.
