Regal had his rug off for a while today so we thought we would show you what's under that rug.

A much healthier, more happy horse.

We absolutely love him so much.

Are you looking for a companion that looks like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth? Trust me, coal would melt in this ponies gob. 😅
Are you wanting a pony who thinks she’s ten foot tall and bulletproof?
Are you wanting a pony who would turn heads in a Show ring but deep down would love to kick the judges heads off?
Meet Cora.
She at one point was a riding school pony, trusted with kids but not other ponies. She hates them. Hence landing at SAHA. She unfortunately lined up another pony and fatally injured him 😢, so her owners said she had to go.
She has been adopted out to a riding family till she came back today, she decided it would be fun to buck the little girl off and fire shots off in the paddock. (hind feet)

So we’ve decided Cora might need a life with adults, and bigger horses.
She’s easy to catch float trim and worm.
She’s a big unit at 9hh.
She is currently a wooly mammoth.
In summer she needs to be rugged and fly masked, she’s fair skinned and got those baby blues. 👀

If you’re interested please send us an email. You will need to fill out an application on her though, and meet the requirements of our adoption contract. (Safe fencing, clean water, shade for the summer sun)
Cora’s link is here if you love the sound of her so much you want to pop an application straight away. 😆 ignore her current write up. That was before she bucked on a child. - We will update.

This photo fills me with sadness.

It's one of our rescue horses (Banksy) having a quiet moment by the dam before he goes in for a morning dip.

This has been the (rental) home for our horses for many, many years, but soon we are losing our beautiful property.

In April 2027 it will be bulldozed and turned into a housing estate.
We MUST find a new property in the coming months so we are able to leave before April 2027.

The only way we can see forward is for the charity to buy it's own property, so that our horses are safe in a home that they can never be turned out of.

It's crucial.

We have a bequest in our bank account which we will use as a deposit on a new property, but it's not enough to buy the sort of acreage and facilities we need. (SAHA must remain within 30 minutes of Beaudesert).

Please help us work towards this.

Our fundraiser is still running.

We named it "A HOME FOR THE HORSES"

All of our horses have great gut health and we are proud to say that we have a very low number of colics even though we have so many horses here.

~Jennifer here~

Well, what an awful time it's been for our beautiful rescue horse "Stormy".

He has been getting consistent hoof abscesses sending him lame and in pain.

Our staff have followed all the correct procedures for treating a hoof abscess, yet once they think it's resolved, he goes lame again.

Our farriers have always found the abscess, cut some of it away to drain, then poultice, but it keeps coming back.

Stormy was sent to Scenic Rim Vets for a full investigation plus x-rays.

Incredibly, there was a small foreign body inside the abscess which meant it would not heal.

If you look closely at the x-rays you can actually see it.

The hoof was again cut open and the foreign body removed.

Stormy is now on stable rest with regular poultice changes and he is expected to make a full recovery.

What an ordeal this has been for him, but we would never leave one of horses without the answers they need, and we are so pleased to get to the bottom of this.

Hey guys, do you remember Lyric?
She was surrendered in 2020 with her very new foal. (We called him Lennon.)
Fast forward to 2026, she has been in her adopted home for almost 2 years.
She has a little girl who loves her dearly, and they are an amazing little team.
Today we got an update and some pics, so we thought we would share them with you. 🥰🥰🥰

From Lyrics Hu-mum Robyn:

Thought you might like to see Lyrics first local show. She did hack ring, jumped up to 50cm! Won the 40cm and placed and won some novelty events! She is a super horse 🐴💕

We love so much that this family have worked so hard with Lyric to turn her from a pretty timid little pony, into a little girls best friend.
The happiest place for Lyric. ❤️❤️

Eddie spent some time out of the stable today in the sunshine and enjoyed himself.
Tomorrow morning will be the coldest morning this year.

Eddie is tucked up in his stable with a full hay net to keep him eating overnight and a fleece rug on to keep him warm.

He had a bandage change today since his eye removal surgery and all looks well including his leg injury.

05/06/2026

Never will he feel hunger again.

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago we took on 2 young TB mares who both had nasty leg wounds, standing in mud?

They are coming along great and are very happy in their stable at night, and out in yards during the day.

The wounds are healing well thanks to our team who clean and bandage every couple of days.

They will make a full recovery and because they are both good riding horses, they will have a great future to look forward to.

We are so glad we took them both in.
