As extreme heat grips large parts of Australia this week, the time for preparation is now, not when flames are visible or evacuation orders sound. The communities that survive disasters aren’t the ones with the best emergency services. They’re the ones that have built resilience before crisis strikes.

As a new year dawns over our orchards, hills, and valleys, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone who calls Batlow home - and to all who carry a piece of Batlow in their hearts.

As the new year begins, we look ahead with renewed purpose. There are opportunities waiting for us - to strengthen our cultural life, to support local creativity, to welcome new ideas, and to build on the foundations laid by those who came before us. Our organisation is committed to fostering spaces where people can gather, celebrate, learn, and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive Batlow.

Finally at last! Today we have transferred 100% of funds and assets to Do It For Batlow, who are going to auspice the newly formed Batlow CiderFest committee. Funds are to be used specifically to organise Batlow CiderFest 2026 and consequent events.

It has been a rather torturous path to get to this - and we are thrilled that this has finally been resolved!

PS: We presented a statement to last weekend's Batlow Community Chamber Meeting. If anyone would like a copy please send us a message with your email details. This statement will be sent to all participants at that meeting with the minutes.
