239 ACU Bathurst Army Cadets

15/10/2026

Not many people commemorated the significance of the day yesterday.
But at 239 ACU we acknowledged the 960th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings (14 October 1066) with a special treat of having eggs with our traditional sausage supper.
At our first parade back after AFX and the Bathurst 1000 Supercars event we took time out to recognise the importance of that Battle on our history.
If you know someone who would benefit from the biggest youth development program in Australia express an interest today.

ARMY CADETS CENTRE STAGE AT BATHURST 🏁

Army Cadets from the New South Wales Brigade have been centre stage at the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 at the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst.

This is the second year our cadets have been part of Supercars, both participating and getting exclusive behind the scenes access at the Bathurst 1000, following a partnership established by Commander Australian Army Cadets, Brigadier David McCammon.

A great opportunity for some of the NSW Brigade Cadets volunteering at Supercars Bathurst 1000 to meet the Mayor of Bathurst Cr. Benjamin Fry and for them to be invited to tour the Mayoral Suite overlooking Pit Lane while on a break. It's these sort of experiences which make our Youth Development Program so effective.

It's been a couple of weeks for 239ACU with our inaugural parade, the our support on ANZAC Day last weekend. This weekend we provided support at the 2026 Royal Bathurst Show. We stewarded in the Show Jump ring, recruited and conducted flag duty. Our last official job, to lower the National Flag at the close of the show. Some of the cadets may have convinced the Face painters to apply a unique cam pattern.
Next year we'll be back to help the show society.
You could be part of our program and join us.
