💐A cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect someone's health. For women in country communities, it can quietly take options away — including the chance to become a mother, to be there for their children, or simply to access the care they deserve. No woman should face those choices alone because of where she lives or the cost of care. That is why Can Assist exists.

This Mother's Day, we're holding space for all of them.

This photograph captures three generations of women, Helen, Leanne, and Ivy, holding close the memory of Ellie. A daughter, a sister, a mother. Ellie passed away at just 27 after bravely facing a rare cancer.

But for some country NSW patients, rising fuel costs - climbing towards $4 per litre - are making it harder to reach life-saving care. When travel becomes unaffordable, treatment can be delayed - and that’s a risk no one should have to face.

🚨 URGENT: Rising fuel prices are putting country NSW cancer patients at risk.

As fuel costs climb towards $4 per litre, some patients are being forced to delay or cancel life-saving treatment simply because they can’t afford the travel.

For 71 years, Can Assist has helped country cancer patients overcome the barriers of distance and cost to reach treatment. As costs continue to rise, we’re calling for community support to ensure no one misses care due to fuel prices.

Can Assist provides financial support, but many don’t realise help is available. With your support, we can help keep treatment accessible for country NSW patients.
