Little Souls Taking Big Steps Limited Little Souls taking Big Steps is an Early Intervention Centre for Children with Autism based on the Gold Coast

Little Souls provides early intervention services to children (aged 2 to 6 years) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) so that they have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We also provide a unique child care environment for typically developing children who receive outstanding preparation for school as well as an appreciation for those of different abilities. The culture of our centre embraces the development of friendships and social skills for all children.

Nineteen years of commitment, dedication, and unwavering loyalty is an extraordinary milestone, and we couldn't let it pass without recognising the incredible contribution Aileen has made to our Little Souls community.

Over the years, Aileen has become an integral part of Little Souls. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine care for our team, our families, and, most importantly, our children are evident in everything she does. Her leadership, support, and dedication have helped shape Little Souls into the caring and welcoming place it is today.

Little Souls is pleased to offer a practical and engaging professional development opportunity for Educators and Early Childhood Teachers:

Challenging Behaviours in an Early Childhood Setting – Understanding, Supporting and Responding

This engaging 3-hour interactive workshop is designed to support Educators and Early Childhood Teachers in understanding, preventing, and responding effectively to challenging behaviours in early childhood settings.

Through practical discussions, real-life examples, and interactive activities, educators will build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively to challenging behaviours. They will leave feeling supported, more confident, and better equipped with practical strategies to manage behaviours within their own setting. Ultimately, enabling Educators to shift their focus from crisis management to fostering positive relationships and create inclusive learning environments where every child feels understood, safe, connected, and able to thrive.

The workshop will be facilitated by the experienced Little Souls team and will be held on Monday, 31 August 2026, at Arundel.

During the session, participants will also learn practical strategies to:

1. Identify early behavioural cues before they escalate.
2. Understand the underlying causes and unmet needs behind behaviour.
3. Develop proactive strategies to support positive behaviour.
4. Use visual supports and resources as effective communication and self-regulation tools.
5. Create an individualised action plan that can be implemented within their own early childhood setting.

Using naturalistic teaching approaches, we encourage spontaneous communication, confidence, and meaningful connections in everyday experiences. Every effort is celebrated, helping children build confidence as their speech, language, and communication skills continue to grow. 🌱✨
