The Ararat Women's Shed had a great (hectic, herding cats kinda) night last night with the Ararat Scouts to make a batch of Dilly Bags for the kids. These are used for camp trips to keep plates, bowls and cups in one place, and naturally we needed to sew names or initials onto each hand made calico bag (that were whipped up on the spot)! The Scouts had a great time picking out their fabric colours, cutting out, pinning and some even tried some hand sewing. Big thanks to Sue for nipping out and grabbing a back-up sewing machine after Row's borked itself. We were delighted to be able to donate a sewing kit for future bag and badge stitching sessions, and hope to do it again soon! Thanks everyone.

This post is a little bit of a 🥰 ✉️ love letter to the fantastic Ararat and surrounding community who came out in such great numbers on Saturday for our first-ever De-Stash and Craft market. There have been lots of people ask if we'll do it again, and yes, we will. Thank you to each and every stall-holder who took a punt on our brand-new market, some coming from Ballarat and Stawell too! Some of our stall-holders sold out, and many had a really great day. We also enjoyed some fabulous coffee and treats. Congratulations to Pauline who won our raffle, with around $100 of prizes generously donated by Lisa from Curious Cultivar soaps and Natasha with Playful Promises. Meanwhile, the Ararat Women's Shed was able to raise over $600 all up on the day! I also need to say a big thank you to the many Ararat Rural City Council team members who made the day possible, and the fabulous Women's Shed volunteers who sorted, packaged, priced, de-stashed, took up stalls, booked the coffee cart, and made the day as awesome as it was. Thank you!
