Meet Bobbie, a gentle thoroughbred whose story is one of heartbreak — and hope. Recently saved by concerned folks and surrendered to Hunter Horse Haven, Bobbie arrived in a heartbreaking state: extremely underweight, with very few teeth left and a severely damaged hoof that makes every step painful.But here’s the beautiful part — Bobbie is finally safe. 💛

He’s surrounded by people who will give him the care, nutrition, and love he needs.

His journey to recovery will take time, patience, and compassion, but he’s already showing the quiet resilience that makes horses like him so extraordinary.

Every day, he reminds us why we do what we do — because every life deserves a second chance.

Today we said a heavy goodbye to our sweet Casey. 💔
​Casey was a deeply loved member of the Hunter Horse Haven family, bringing so much warmth and light to our herd. Sadly, Casey was dealing with an untreatable condition, and as the pain became too much, the kindest choice we could make was to let her go peacefully.

​While our hearts are aching, we take comfort in knowing Casey is finally free from pain.

Thank you to everyone who loved, cared for, and gave Casey such a wonderful life with us.

Rest easy, sweet friend—you will be dearly missed and forever remembered. 🌈🐴✨

Meet Patch, our newest arrival at Hunter Horse Haven! 🐴💔

Patch is a 15-year-old Paint mare who came to us recently. Everything is brand-new to her right now, and she’s feeling a bit unsure and anxious about her new surroundings.

We’re giving her all the time, soft words, and gentle care she needs to realize she is safe, loved, and home. It takes time for rescued horses to decompress, but with patience and a calm environment, we know Patch's personality will shine through soon.

Stay tuned for updates as Patch settles in and begins her journey with us!

Huge thanks to our amazing equine massage therapists for giving Grace some much-needed TLC. 🐴✨

Grace has some back issues, which we are working to resolve, but she absolutely loves her specialist bodywork session. You could practically see her sighing with relief.

Working hard to keep our girl comfortable, happy, and on the road to feeling her absolute best. ❤️

Yesterday we were thrilled to welcome 10 students from Youth of the Streets who came with their teachers to spend a day at the paddocks as part of their ongoing program.

While there was some "horse time" - grooming and loving some of our residents, there was also plenty of hard work: mucking out stables, pulling weeds from paddocks, and cleaning water troughs.

We are thrilled to be working with this wonderful organisation and look forward to being able to contribute to their valuable work.

Many thanks to the folks from who chose HHH for their community support working bee.
They were fantastic and with their help we were able to dismantle, relocate and rebuild one of our stables and day yards.

Farrier day at the paddocks today. All our horses were treated and Grace in particular thoroughly enjoyed her "equine pedicure".
