Final Count is in. A swing TO the LNP in Blair.

While we don’t hide our disappointment at the loss, there are plenty of positives.

The final result showed a 0.42% swing to the LNP in Blair, in contrast to a 3.98% statewide swing to Labor across Queensland. This is a strong outcome in a very challenging environment, and it speaks to the hard work, commitment, and energy that went into our campaign.

This result places Blair as the best performing challenging seat in Qld and puts the LNP in an even stronger position to take the seat at the next election.

Update/Note: After posting even though 100% of votes were counted the AEC are continuing to update the swing. Currently it is a small .3 swing to Labor. Wherever it lands it will be a strong result to the LNP.

It was a privilege to stand as the LNP candidate for Blair. I spoke to Shayne Neumann this morning and congratulated him and the ALP on his victory. There is a lot to be done in Ipswich, Karana Downs and Somerset and the voters of Blair have placed their faith in him to progress projects like the Amberley Interchange. I wish him well into the future.

Not all votes are in, but it would seem that the LNP in Blair has actually performed well when considering the national and statewide swings. We had an exceptional Campaign team led by Tracy my campaign manager who did an outstanding job. We had hundreds of dedicated volunteers, and we feel we ran a campaign to be proud of. Though this election didn’t go our way, I extend my heartfelt thanks to every voter and our remarkable team of supporters and volunteers.

I love my home city of Ipswich and am hoping I get to advocate for it in whatever role I have in the future. To my wife and daughters, thanks for the trust and the long season of effort.

🚧 LNP FIXING AMBERLEY INTERCHANGE 🚧
A Dutton LNP Government will deliver $200 million to fix the Amberley Interchange in Ipswich.

When I speak to residents, one issue keeps coming up—the Amberley Interchange is a daily frustration and a serious safety concern. Between 2018 and 2022, there were 90 traffic incidents and 3 fatalities. Enough is enough.

For 17 years, Shayne Neumann has had the chance to fix it. The community deserves better.

I’ve been on the phone nearly every day fighting for this. We launched a petition, knocked on doors, and pushed hard. Today, I’m proud to be part of a team that’s delivering real results for Ipswich and Somerset.

Mayor Teresa Harding backed it. Senator Paul Scarr has called for it. Jon Krause MP spoke about how much we need it. And now, the LNP will get it done—improving safety, easing congestion, and supporting growth in Ripley, Amberley, and beyond.

Our RAAF Amberley personnel, local families, and commuters deserve an upgrade that puts safety first.

🏟️ $1.25 million for Blackstone United FC ⚽

So pleased to announce today with Angie Bell MP that a Dutton LNP Government will deliver a $1.25 million investment to upgrade the facilities at Blackstone United Dragons — a local club doing incredible work in our community.

This funding will support the construction of dedicated female-specific changerooms and a flood-resilient clubhouse, ensuring all players, particularly women and girls, have safe, private, and modern facilities that reflect the club’s values of inclusivity and participation.

Blackstone United FC isn’t just a sporting club — it’s a hub for families, refugee youth through partnerships like Pushing Barriers, and local schools. These upgrades will enhance the club’s ability to support female participation, strengthen community engagement, and foster the next generation of footballers.

As the LNP candidate for Blair, I’m proud to back grassroots clubs like Blackstone United FC / Blackstone Dragons and it has been a pleasure working with their President Jeremy Bruce and grants officer Nigel Lucas. Only the LNP has a clear plan to invest in local infrastructure and ensure our community sport facilities meet the needs of today — and tomorrow.

🗳️ Went to the pre-poll at Somerset Civic Centre yesterday. The cost of living pressure is as real in Somerset as anywhere else, making it so important to have our voices heard. 🙌 Huge thanks to volunteers like Chris, who have faithfully turned up year after year with unwavering dedication to support our community and democracy. G’day Springfield! Had a fantastic day yesterday at our Springfield pre-poll location, joined by our amazing volunteers who are bringing so much energy! The conversations with locals have been top-notch, hearing what matters to our community. 🙌

A quick reminder: the LNP will deliver new cricket nets with lights at Springfield Sports Complex, a $3.5m Headspace mental health facility in Redbank Plains, and upgraded lights at Redbank Plains Recreational Reserve.
