Care, kindness and a whole lot of teamwork! đź’š

We’re incredibly grateful to have two wonderful groups of volunteer students from The Scots School Albury preparing meals for The Carevan Foundation and helping us provide nourishing food to people in our community doing it tough.

Every fortnight, students and teachers generously give their time on a Tuesday afternoon to prepare a delicious meal. Recently they cooked up a hearty Cottage Pie, the perfect warm and comforting meal that we know will be thoroughly enjoyed.

A special thank you to the Year 12 students who helped “potato top” the pies today, getting them ready for delivery to people living in crisis accommodation. 💚

Our second group of Scots students are completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. But regardless of the accolade, these young people are putting genuine care into every cut, slice and sandwich!

Just look at these delicious sandwiches, each one finished with a little message of care and hope. đź’š

Help us put the finishing touches on The Carevan Foundation new home at Metry St!

We’re looking for a few generous businesses, tradies and community members who might be able to lend a hand or donate equipment.

We’re currently seeking:
🔨 A plasterer to help finish the space, especially the roof!
🍳 A rangehood
🪚 Cabinet makers / shelving
🍽️ A rack for storing our clean dishes

If you can help with any of these items, or know someone who might be able to, we’d love to hear from you.

Every helping hand gets us one step closer to creating a welcoming, functional home for Carevan and the people we support across our community.

Please get in touch via a DM or tag someone who may be able to help.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that The Carevan Foundation has been named the 2026 Riverina Volunteer Team of the Year. 💚

Our 80 incredible volunteers come from all walks of life and together provide more than 20,000 healthy meals each year, support up to 80 people every day, create Street Care Packs and connect with students across 13 local schools.

This recognition celebrates the compassion, commitment and generosity our volunteers bring to the community every day.

And now, following our regional win, we’re thrilled to share that Carevan has been nominated in the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards!

We couldn’t be prouder of our volunteers and the difference they continue to make across the Riverina.

Congratulations to our amazing Carevan team — this recognition is yours! 💚

A swag. A skill. A second chance. đź’š

What if something as simple as making a swag could change a life?

At Beechworth Correctional Centre, prisoners are working alongside professional mentors to make our locally designed Ruffy Swags — practical, high-quality swags that are then distributed to people experiencing homelessness, from Albury/Wodonga through to Melbourne.

This incredible Carevan and UnitingCare partnership has already seen several hundred swags made and distributed to people who have no option but to sleep rough.

But sadly, the program is now at risk of closing due to a lack of funding.

That’s why we’re putting the call out.

We’re looking for businesses, organisations, foundations or individuals who might be able to help us keep this meaningful program alive. Your support doesn’t just help provide someone with a warm, safe place to sleep, it also gives people in prison the opportunity to learn skills, build confidence and contribute something positive to their community.

It’s a beautiful example of what can happen when we invest in people, dignity and second chances.

If you, your business or someone you know could help keep Ruffy Swags going, please reach out. Every bit of support can make a difference. đź’š

What a great night at the Albury Wodonga Business Awards ! ✨💚

While we didn’t take home the win this time, it was a fantastic experience and our first time being part of these awards. We’re so proud to have been recognised and to celebrate alongside so many inspiring local businesses.

Here’s to our first AW Business Awards — and hopefully not our last! 🥂💚

A very BIG thank you to our wonderful volunteers! đź’š

Throughout the season, you’ve fired up the Carevan BBQ, sold raffle tickets and helped raise much-needed funds at the Southern Vale Homes Bandits Albury Wodonga matches.

Your time, energy and generosity help us continue providing meals and support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We couldn’t do it without you! 🙌

Thank you for showing up, pitching in and helping make a real difference. đź’š

What a wonderful BBQ and community gathering for Homelessness Week on Thursday, hosted by Albury Wodonga Health as part of World Hepatitis Day. đź’š

More than 30 people came together to enjoy a snag, a chat and, most importantly, connection and community.

It was fantastic to see so many services working side by side to offer support, including Carevan Foundation, Albury Wodonga Health, Yes Unlimited, Corrections, Homes NSW and even Census Field Officers, helping people to be counted and connected to the services they need.

Events like this show the power of bringing people together with care, dignity and a genuine commitment to supporting our community. đź’š
