It was with great pleasure that Albany At Ease and the RSL Albany Sub-Branch recently co-hosted 'An Evening with Harry Moffitt'. Harry spoke on his 30 year ADF service, most of which was spent with the Special Air Service (SAS) Regiment as Team Commander and Team Specialist.
It was a great insight for all attending to learn on life during and post frontline service, with opportunity for discussion following the presentation.
A big thank you to Harry and all RSL Albany & Albany At Ease volunteers who contributed their time and effort to host this successful event.

US SUBMARINERS MEMORIAL SERVICE – 50th Anniversary

Join us for a memorial service honouring the United States Submariners who operated from the Port of Albany during World War II.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of this important commemoration, recognising Albany and Australia’s home-front role in World War II and ensuring this history lives on through generations to come.

Taking place at 10am, Sunday 24 May 2026, at the 'Still on Patrol' Memorial, Princess Royal Fortress.

Approximately 5000 people attended the 2026 Albany Anzac Day Dawn Service on Mt Clarence, a tradition began by Padre Arthur White who served with the 44th Battalion in WW1. Following a Requiem Mass in 1930, Padre White led his congregation to the summit of Mt Clarence, a viewpoint to King George Sound, the first departure point for the Anzacs heading to WW1.
Congratulations to the RSL Albany Sub-Branch and all their supporters for another successful and poignant 2026 Albany Anzac Day.
