🌊 Thinking about Nippers this season? 🏄

Have you been wondering what Nippers is all about?

Agnes Water Nippers is a great way for kids to build confidence in the water, learn valuable beach safety skills, make new friends, and have plenty of fun along the way.

It's not just about competition – it's about developing confidence, teamwork, and a love of the beach in a safe and supportive environment.

If you've been thinking about joining, our Sign-On & Open Day is the perfect chance to come and have a look around, meet some of our members, ask questions, and see what the club is all about.

🏊 Pool Proficiency Sessions – Save the Dates! 🏊

If your child is joining Agnes Water Nippers this season, they'll need to complete a pool proficiency before beach training and carnivals begin.

📅 Save these dates:
• Saturday 12 September
• Saturday 19 September

⏰ Time: Morning session (final times to be confirmed)
📍 Location: To be confirmed

Pool proficiencies are a compulsory Surf Life Saving Queensland requirement and help ensure every Nipper is participating safely at a level appropriate for their age.

Pool proficiency benchmarks:

🌊 U6 & U7 – Basic water confidence and competency (no timed swim).

🌊 U8 – Continuous, un-timed safety swim demonstrating confidence in the water.

🌊 U9 & U10 – 200 m pool swim, plus 2 minutes treading water and object retrieval.

🌊 U11–U14 – 200 m pool swim.

🌊 SRC Candidates – 200 m pool swim in 5 minutes.

As soon as the venue and session times are confirmed, we'll share all the details here.

The upcoming surf sports season is starting to take shape, and we're excited to share the Wide Bay South carnival dates for the 2026–27 season.

🏄 25 October 2026 – Elliott Heads (U11–U15)
🏄 22 November 2026 – Bundaberg (4 Point Carnival)
🏄 6 December 2026 – Hervey Bay (4 Point Carnival)
🏄 20 February 2027 – Agnes Water Carnival (U11–Masters) 🏖️
🏄 21 February 2027 – North v South Carnival (Agnes Water) 🏖️

Whether you're aiming to compete, cheer from the sidelines, or volunteer, these are great dates to pop in your calendar now.

We're especially excited to welcome clubs from across the region back to Agnes Water in February for a fantastic weekend of surf sports and community.

🏄‍♀️ The countdown to another fantastic Nippers season has begun! 🌊

Planning for the 2026–27 season is officially underway, with our new Agnes Water Surf Life Saving Club committee meeting in early August to get everything ready for another amazing summer on the beach.

Here's what you can look forward to:

Congratulations to Cam Parry and Mark Johnson on stepping into their roles as President and Vice President at last weekends AGM. Martina Mahony also joins the committee as Director of Surf Sports.

In recent years we have had members hold numerous positions within the club. This leads to a massive workload and burnout over the season. Members volunteer their time to help the club and nippers run. Lets help lighten the load and all chip in. It may seem daunting from the outside. But there is always the help from fellow members and also frome Surf Life Saving Queensland. Its all one big community working together.

Looks after the club’s finances and helps keep the club financially healthy.
Responsibilities:
Manage club accounts and payments
Keep financial records
Prepare simple financial reports
Help manage budgets and spending

🌊Junior Activities Coordinator(JAC)
Coordinates the Nippers program and supports junior members and families.
Responsibilities:
Organise junior activities
Support Age Managers and families
Encourage participation and fun
Promote a safe environment for juniors

🌊Surf Sports Officer
Coordinates surf sports training, carnivals, and member participation.
Responsibilities:
Organise surf sports activities
Coordinate carnival entries
Support athletes and coaches
Encourage member involvement

Supports patrol members and helps maintain a strong club culture.

Agnes Water SLSC loves to get involved with the community. Our fantastic members help out with keeping everyone safe in the water and on the beach each year, at the Agnes Water Triathlon and Aquathon.
