Have you been wondering what Nippers is all about?

Agnes Water Nippers is a great way for kids to build confidence in the water, learn valuable beach safety skills, make new friends, and have plenty of fun along the way.

It's not just about competition – it's about developing confidence, teamwork, and a love of the beach in a safe and supportive environment.

If you've been thinking about joining, our Sign-On & Open Day is the perfect chance to come and have a look around, meet some of our members, ask questions, and see what the club is all about.

🏊 Pool Proficiency Sessions – Save the Dates! 🏊

If your child is joining Agnes Water Nippers this season, they'll need to complete a pool proficiency before beach training and carnivals begin.

πŸ“… Save these dates:
β€’ Saturday 12 September
β€’ Saturday 19 September

⏰ Time: Morning session (final times to be confirmed)
πŸ“ Location: To be confirmed

Pool proficiencies are a compulsory Surf Life Saving Queensland requirement and help ensure every Nipper is participating safely at a level appropriate for their age.

Pool proficiency benchmarks:

🌊 U6 & U7 – Basic water confidence and competency (no timed swim).

🌊 U8 – Continuous, un-timed safety swim demonstrating confidence in the water.

🌊 U9 & U10 – 200 m pool swim, plus 2 minutes treading water and object retrieval.

🌊 U11–U14 – 200 m pool swim.

🌊 SRC Candidates – 200 m pool swim in 5 minutes.

As soon as the venue and session times are confirmed, we'll share all the details here.

Planning for the 2026–27 season is officially underway, with our new Agnes Water Surf Life Saving Club committee meeting in early August to get everything ready for another amazing summer on the beach.

Here's what you can look forward to:

In recent years we have had members hold numerous positions within the club. This leads to a massive workload and burnout over the season. Members volunteer their time to help the club and nippers run. Lets help lighten the load and all chip in. It may seem daunting from the outside. But there is always the help from fellow members and also frome Surf Life Saving Queensland. Its all one big community working together.

Looks after the club’s finances and helps keep the club financially healthy.
Responsibilities:
Manage club accounts and payments
Keep financial records
Prepare simple financial reports

🌊Junior Activities Coordinator(JAC)
Coordinates the Nippers program and supports junior members and families.
Responsibilities:
Organise junior activities
Support Age Managers and families

🌊Surf Sports Officer
Coordinates surf sports training, carnivals, and member participation.
