🌊💙 WHAT AN AMAZING FIRST DAY OF NIPPERS! 💙🌊

What a perfect Sunday in paradise! ☀️🏖️
From our little green caps having their very first Nippers session to our blue caps getting back out on the waves, it was fantastic to see everyone back on the beach for the start of another season.

There was teamwork, water safety, plenty of learning, lots of smiles, and most importantly, everyone having the best time! 🤙🌊

A HUGE thank you to all our amazing volunteers who gave up their Sunday to make it happen. Our Age Managers, Water Safety crew, committee, and all the helping hands behind the scenes — we couldn't do it without you! 🙌

Here's to another fantastic season of learning, growing, making friends, and having fun in the water.

We're nearly there! Our first Nippers morning of the season is this Sunday, 11 October. 🤙

⏰ Nippers kicks off at 9:00am

👇 A quick reminder:
🏄 Under 13s and up — please be at the beach by 8:15am for setup
🌊 Everyone else — arrive 8:30–8:40am, ready to go

Don't forget, all Nippers need to have completed their pool proficiency before getting involved.

🏊 Pool Proficiency Reminder 🌊

Just a friendly reminder that our last Nipper's Pool Proficiency session is coming up this Saturday, 10 October.

Pool proficiencies are an important part of the Nippers season and help ensure every child is participating safely at a level appropriate for their age.

If you haven't completed your pool proficiency yet, we'd love to see you there!

Can't make it? Don't worry. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible. There are alternative arrangements available, and we'll be happy to help you through the process.

🌊🔥 NIPPERS IS BACK! 🔥🌊
Sunday 11 October is our very first Nippers day of the season, Agnes Water! New season, new committee, and we are STOKED to see you all back on the sand. 🤙
📍 SUNDAY 11 OCTOBER
⏰ Under 13s and up: be at the beach by 8:15am to help with setup. 🧹 That's setup, pack up and washing off boards, and it rotates through the age groups every week so everyone gets a turn!
⏰ Everyone else: arrive 8:30-8:40am, ready to go
⏰ On the beach by 8:45am
⏰ Nippers kicks off at 9:00am
🏊 What's on: run-swim-runs for our carnival kids and open water proficiencies for everyone else.
📅 Mark your diaries: Sundays 11, 18 and 25 October
Carnival and Nipper updates should have reached everyone by now. If you haven't seen them, send us a message on this post and we'll get you sorted.
First days can be a little hectic, so thanks in advance for your patience. Bring your biggest, brightest smile and we'll sort the rest! 😁

❓ NIPPERS FAQ

I can't make the pool proficiency dates. What should I do?

Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

If you're unable to attend one of our scheduled pool proficiency sessions, the next one is on the 10th of October, there are alternative arrangements available.

✅ Your child can complete their pool proficiency with an appropriately qualified external swim coach or swim teacher (for example, a Swimming Australia accredited coach).

🌊 We're putting the call out for the 2026/27 season! 🌊

Agnes Water Surf Life Saving Club is on the hunt for sponsors to back our Nippers, patrol volunteers, carnival kids, and the club as a whole.

We've got a few sponsorship options available, with something to suit businesses of all sizes. Whether you'd like your name on a shirt, a sign, or you're just keen to support a great local community club (and earn a few good karma points 😉), we'd love to have a chat.

We know some of you have been meaning to reach out for ages and just haven't gotten around to it.

Consider this your sign. 😊

And if you didn't even realise sponsoring the club was an option... now you do!

🌊 A big thank you to Pavillions on 1770! 🙏

A huge thanks to Pavilions on 1770 Resort for letting us use their pool for the first round of Nipper pool proficiencies.

We had a great turnout and it was fantastic to see so many Nippers taking the next step towards the season ahead. 💙

Our next pool proficiency session is:

And the water should be a fair bit warmer by then! 😉 Plenty of time to get everyone through.

If the 10th doesn't work for your family, you don't have to wait for our scheduled session. A suitably qualified swim coach or swim teacher can complete your child's pool proficiency assessment using the official Surf Life Saving Queensland evaluation form.
