Not that hard to walk down to the chemist and get the flu jab saw a few of the big pharmacy names have free flu shots for members something to check.

Australians are being urged to book their influenza shot as the new fast-moving Super-K strain adds to fears of another “horror” flu season.

This is breathtaking! Are we getting value for money from our health bureaucracy?

South Australia’s highest paid bureaucrat is earning almost $800,000 a year and nearly double that of his boss the Premier, official figures show.

Breathtakingly inadequate response by the Albanese Government.

How has this been determined by the Albanese Government - if the Government wants Australians to be confident that this is sufficient medical officers for the growing Australian population and demand then come clean and show us the Commonwealth Government medical workforce planning to reach the magical number of 100 new placements. Happy to post on this site.

The Albanese Government is providing 100 additional Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) a year for students studying medicine to help train the next generation of doctors. The places are spread across 10 universities that demonstrated, through a competitive process, they would focus the places on pr...

What! No way! But don't State Government's keep their promises?

For four long years, the South Australian Government has promised to deliver a crucial Gender Equality Bill. They have failed to deliver.

This is the final sitting week of this term of Parliament. The government has dragged its heels, has failed to act on its own task force’s recommendations, breaking a core promise to the working women of our state. The silence on this critical Bill is deafening.

Unions have launched a public campaign and a new action tool on the SA unions website calling on Minister for Women, Katrine Hildyard, with a clear, unified message from the community: Keep your promise.

SA Government, Keep your Promise on Gender Equality. Email the Minister today!

Disappointing to see the Labor Federal Government ignoring expert advice on public hospital funding via the National Health Reform Agreement.

If the Feds are really interested in efficiency, just three months ago their own Productivity Commission delivered an interim report ("Delivering quality care more efficiently") which provides excellent ideas to help create a better, more efficient health system.

The Federal Government would do well to re-read some of these recent documents.

In the meantime the Federal Government continue to put the squeeze on public hospitals by under-funding primary care and aged care.

Health ministers are furious with a letter from the prime minister demanding they rein in spending if they want a public hospital funding deal honoured.

How is it that governments and health administrators have failed to plan for mental health demand when we have known about the lack of access to specialised mental health care for the community for too long.

"The Productivity Commission said Australia's mental health and su***de prevention system was out of reach for many, and the national agreement needed a complete rewrite.

It also issued a call for an "immediate" fix for 500,000 Australians who have no access to specialist mental health care because it is only available inside the NDIS"

A scathing Productivity Commission review concludes that Australia's mental health system is failing and needs a rewrite, while warning that 500,000 Australians are unable to access the care that they need.
