Zarathustra WAS THE PERSIAN PROPHET on whose teachings the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism is based.The name by which he is commonly known in the West is from the Greek form of his original name,Zarathushtra, which means “Shining Light.”

زَرتُشت یا زَردُشت پیامبر ایران باستان بود که مزدیسنا را
بنیان گذاشت.وی همچنین سراینده گات‌ها، کهن‌ترین بخش اوستا می‌باشد. زمان و محل دقیق تولد وی مشخص نیست

اما گمانه‌زنی‌ها و اسناد، زمانی بین ۶۰۰۰ تا ۶۰۰ سال پیش از میلاد مسیح را برای او حدس زده‌اند و زادگاه وی را به مناطق مختلفی مانند ری، آذربایجان، خوارزم و سیستان نسبت داده‌اند.
