Have the flu and breastfeeding? 🤧 Yes, you can usually keep breastfeeding!

Your breastmilk continues to provide antibodies and immune support to help protect your baby, even when you’re unwell.

If you have the flu:
🧼 Wash your hands regularly with soap and water
🤧 Try not to cough or sneeze near your baby
🛏️ Rest as much as possible and feed in positions that feel comfortable
👶 If you feel too unwell to breastfeed directly, expressing milk can still help your baby receive the benefits of your breastmilk

Some mums may notice a temporary dip in milk supply while sick, but support is available. ABA counsellors can help with practical tips and reassurance during this time.
