Yesterday, Gaval Community Services came together for a truly special NAIDOC Day celebration. 🖤💛❤️
Our afternoon was filled with meaningful moments — from the Acknowledgement of Country, to community painting, shared stories, cultural reflections, music, food, laughter and time spent together.
It was beautiful to see our participants and staff learning, creating, sharing and celebrating side by side.
We were also proud to recognise the achievements and contributions of our participants, but today was about so much more than certificates. It was about culture, connection, belonging and creating a space where everyone felt included and valued.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so warm, joyful and memorable.
We leave today with full hearts, stronger connections and a deeper appreciation for the strength, knowledge and continuing legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

🖤💛❤️ Gaval Community Services celebrates NAIDOC Week 2026

This NAIDOC Week, we honour the history, culture, strength, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2026 theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” is a powerful reminder of the voices, leadership, resilience, and contributions of First Nations communities across generations.

At Gaval Community Services, we acknowledge the importance of culture, identity, respect, connection, and community in the work we do every day. We also recognise that meaningful support begins with listening, learning, and walking alongside people with dignity and care.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and we celebrate the continuing strength, knowledge, and legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
