CONGRATULATIONS and GOODLUCK to AMAYA COWLING who will be competing in the 1500m race walk at the 2026 Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships in Brisbane starting tomorrow.

It’s the first time the U12 age group has been added to the competition. Athletes who nominated were selected based on on their results from the State Individual Athletics Championships.

🏆AGM / Awards Night🏆

The AGM / Awards Night has arrived!

After a fantastic year, we’ve got plans to make next year even better.

Please consider putting your hand up to join the committee. Many hands make light work and even small levels of assistance here and there go a long way to keeping this community club operating.

The AGM wil start at 5:45pm with the awards commencing straight after at 6pm and will be held in the club rooms at the oval.

Tiny Tots please arrive for the usual start of 5.30pm. Hayley will have some things set up for you.

We will be getting pizzas delivered towards the end of the awards. Please feel free to bring a sweet plate to share amongst your age group. The bar will also be open from 5.45pm.

INSPIRATIONAL!!

For all of those who were fortunate enough to make it out to the track for the State Individual Championships on the weekend, they couldn’t help be inspired by the efforts of those representing the yellow and gold. 💛💚

There were some standout performances on the day.

Congratulations also goes to Phoenix Collie who achieved a club record in the discus to go with the 4 other records that fell over the weekend by Amity, Amaya and Eddie.

There were many other outstanding performances from our athletes who were facing the best kids in the State.

CONGRATULATIONS to all Southern Hills athletes who valiantly represented the club on Sunday at the State Combined Event Championships.

Amongst some impressive top 10 finishers in the overall standings, the standout was Eli Simpson who took out the Silver medal in the under 10 boys.

🌟 State Challenge
📅 Date: Sunday 29 March 2026
🏃‍♀️ Age Groups: Under 8 to under 13
A fantastic opportunity for athletes who haven’t quite qualified for the SICs, to compete in a Championship-style event at the SA Athletics Stadium.

🌟 State Individual Championships (SIC)
📅 Date: Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2026
‍🏃‍♂️ Age Groups: Under 9 to under 17
The ultimate competition! This is where athletes compete against the best of the best from around the state.
⚠️ Note: The SIC will have a limited number of athletes.

💸 Fee: $18 per event for the first 3 events. $9 for the 4th event and the 5th event is free (capped at $63 total)

LONG JUMPERS!!!! 🫵

This Friday, John Dongas is doing a special long jump session for us. If you are keen to improve your long jump skills please be at the long jump pits for 5.30pm, all age groups welcome to come along.

John is an experienced long jumper who has won multiple state junior titles in the long jump and triple jump. In the 2025 season, finishing 3rd in the open men's long jump at the state championships and 20th at the Australian championships with a PB of 7.07m. He has a strong interest in promoting the transition of junior athletes to high performing senior levels.

CONGRATULATIONS to Southern Hills athlete Inntien Boey (U14) and former Southern Hills Athlete and our fabulous Tiny Tots coordinator Haley Fuss (U16) on their incredible performances at last weekend’s National All Schools Athletics Championships representing South Australia.

Inntien made it to the final of the Long Jump, jumping a big PB and finishing in 8th place.

Hayley made the final of the 100m and 200m and finished 5th place in both events.

Outstanding achievements!!
