Mendy - One Project ...Three Countries

As part of its participation in the UNHCR program Long Day of Flight, and in collaboration with the Theatre of the Oppressed in Vienna, the Sudanese Artists’ Union in Cairo, and the Yes and No initiative in Sudan, the Mendy Project will launch a series of activities, first of all in Vienna.
This time, the target groups are young people of all genders and children. The workshops and performances will take place on October 3rd, the day designated by the UNHCR.
Our program in Vienna will continue until December 10, marking International Human Rights Day.

Mendy sees the future in them – the children and the art workshop in collaboration with the Yes&No initiative.
The workshop is part of our environmental awareness program, which began with theatrical performances.
The first play, A Planet Falling Toward Earth by Abdelghani Karamallah عبدالغني كرم الله , and the second, Seeds and Suns by Afeif Ismail f Ismail.

A theatrical performance for children was held in one of the safe areas in Sudan,
on the occasion of World Environment Day, featuring a children's play written by the poet and playwright Afeif Ismail, titled
"*Seeds and Suns*".

The event was organized in collaboration with the Yes & No Initiative.

*Counseling on the Impact of the War on Couples*

Mendy for Peace Culture and Diversity Management organized a training course under the title above,
facilitated by Dr. Magdi Ishaq, Consultant Psychiatrist, from June 5 to July 10.

The training was conducted in collaboration with:

- Wamat Amel Initiative
- Single Mothers Initiative
- Persistence and Challenge – Eritrean Women’s Initiative
- Eritrean Women’s Network in the UK

The course aimed to equip women with the foundations of psychological support,
empowering them to provide care and guidance within their communities.

With steady steps forward and the dreams of childhood in their hearts, the Mendy project, in collaboration with the Yes&No Initiative, ventures into the world of colors. The drawing and painting project emerged following children's training and their performance of two plays: “A Planet Falling Toward Earth” by novelist and storyteller Abdelghani Karamallah, and “Suns and Seeds” by poet and playwright Afeif Ismail. Thus, a space of peace and love was created—for the children and their families.

You are warmly welcomed to join us for the launch of the poetry anthology featuring thirty poets from the Danube region, translated into Arabic by Dr. Eshraga Mustafa Hamid. 04th July at 19:00 oclock.
The anthology was published and launched at the Cairo International Book Fair, marking the centennial celebration of the Sandleitnhof area, where the translator has resided since 2003.
