What's your name and where are you from?
My name is Illunis and I'm a street artist from Salzburg, Austria.

How do you describe your art in three words?
Cryptic ornamental lettering.

What is the meaning of street art for you?
Street art holds a special place in my heart for several reasons. I like how it's not separated from society. Everyone can enjoy street art without having to step into a museum. Everyone can make street art without getting anyone's approval first. You can do and say whatever you want to. I think it's very special in that way.
The second great thing about street art is how impermanent it can be. It can be a challenge sometimes to give your best with a wall that might get overpainted tomorrow. I think that's a great metaphor for life in general, how nothing is ever set in stone and can change in a heartbeat. That is something that I definitely have to get used to and street art is a great way to learn.

Why are you looking forward to Hands off the Wall 2023?
I'm looking forward to HOTW mainly to meet the other artists. Seeing old friends again and making new ones!

We’re an artist duo based in Macau, China, formed by ANHZ (Anny) from Macau and FEW (Felipe) from Costa Rica.

How do you describe your art in three words? Color – Flow – Energy

What is the meaning of street art for you?
Street art is many things at the same time. It’s a tool to create, a tool to tell stories, it helps connect people, and allows them to build communities. Street art in all its categories gives us understanding of ourselves and pushes us to take an addictive journey to discover styles and different ways to imagine things and improve ourselves.

Why are you looking forward to Hands off the Wall 2023?
Before the pandemic we used to travel plenty to festivals, but for almost 4 years, difficulties blocked us from doing this thing we love the most. We are the most inspired and fulfilled when we get the chance to meet other artists in different cities and share our work at the same time that we get blown away by other people’s art, stories and cultures. Last time we had the chance to join a female festival was around 2015! That’s how special this is. HOTW is a very special opportunity to discover more of the power and impact of the female artists in an art category that is very male-dominated here at home in Macau and even in Latin America.
