Today a Banner with „NO ESC 2026“ written was hung from the balcony of the Golden Roof, Innsbruck’s landmark. A lot of people have a lot of anger and deep opposition to the hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest and Israel’s participation! This action was an expression of that. We dont welcome the ESC, especially with Israels participation, in Austria!

Despite massive calls for a boycott and the non-participation of five countries, the ruling class in Austria has done everything in its power to provide a stage for Israel, the apartheid state. This is intended to legitimize the genocide of Palestinians, the wars of aggression, and the occupation of territories in the region, particularly in Iran and Lebanon.

Israel serves as an outpost for Western imperialist powers, particularly the U.S., to advance their interests in the region. German Chancellor Merz put it this way: Israel does “our dirty work,” and thus Zionism receives the full support of various imperialist states.
Even supposedly “neutral” Austria is joining in and, by hosting the ESC, is acting as a spearhead in legitimizing genocide, occupation, and wars of aggression.
While tens of millions of euros are being spent to stage this “spectacle” for the elites, the consequences of their warmongering policies are being dumped on the backs of the population:
One crisis follows another; new austerity measures, budget cuts, and skyrocketing prices are making life increasingly difficult for the Austrian people. Yet for those in power, it is clear that their interests are best served by standing alongside Israel. By hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, Austria is clearly aligning itself with the warmongers, thereby serving the agenda of rearmament and militarization.
The ESC, however, is to be celebrated; therefore, legitimate protest directed against Zionism—which defends the democratic rights of peoples and nations—is criminalized and slandered as anti-Semitic.
Long live international solidarity!
Freedom for Palestine!

Defend the democratic rights of the people!
For the restoration of neutrality!

Anti-fascism means anti-Zionism!
