ARMENIAN BARTENDERS' ASSOCIATION HISTORY
The founders of Armenian Bartenders Association Armen Chilingaryan, Vaghinak Srapyan, Vahagn Babayan, Grigor Matnishyan and Tigran Avetisyan first met on September 25, 2000 in “Cactus” Mexican Restaurant and Bar, at 42 Mashtots Ave., Yerevan, Armenia. The first point of the agenda was to discuss the fundamental opportunities and recourses to establish a pro

fessional organization to develop the bar and bartending industry in Armenia. was officially registered as nonprofit organization. According to The General Committee Armen Chilingaryan was elected president of AR.B.A., Tigran Avetisyan as the Vice-President, Vaghinak Srapyan was elected the vice-president of flairing and Grigor Matnishyan as the vice-president of catering. In 2002 AR.B.A. announced itself and its activities with the International Bartenders’ Association (IBA), thus taking the first step to the cooperation. As a result AR.B.A. was invited to the 52nd International meeting of IBA as an observer. From October 18 to 23, 2003 the Vice-president of AR.B.A. Tigran Avetisyan was invited to Seville, Spain, to participate in IBA Annual meeting and represent AR.B.A. to 49 national Associations from all over the world. In October 2004 AR.B.A General Meeting announced the new Board election results: Tigran Avetisyan, The President, Vahagn Babayan, Vice-president, Vaghinak Srapyan, Vice-president of flairing and Grigor Matnishyan, Vice-president of catering. On October 25, 2005 during the IBA Annual Meeting, held in Helsinki, Finland, Armenian Bartenders’ Association was officially recognized as an active member of the International Bartenders’ Association (IBA). On December 21, 2008, during AR.B.A Annual General Meeting, held in “Best Western Congress” Hotel the new Board was elected: Tigran Avetisyan – President, Vice-Presidents Vahagn Babayan, Vaginak Srapyan, Grigor Harutyunyan, and Artyom Khachunts. Armenian Bartenders’ Association is a unique organization, a cradle of knowledge and a community of professionals developing themselves and each other, exchanging the experience from participation in competitions, world championships, visiting congresses. AR.B.A. is also highly committed to helping its partner organizations – producers, suppliers, sellers, restaurateurs. Nowadays, The Association involves 400 active members, working in Armenia and abroad.


ИСТОРИЯ АРМЯНСКОЙ АССОЦИАЦИИ БАРМЕНОВ

Первое собрание учредителей Армянской Ассоциации Барменов состоялась 25 сентября 2000 года в Мексиканском бар-ресторане "Кактус" по адресу пр. Маштоца 42, Ереван, Армения. Среди присутствующих были Армен Чилингарян, Вагинак Срапян, Григор Матнишян, Ваагн Бабаян и Тигран Аветисян. Главным вопросом собрания, было создание професиональной Ассоциации, для развития барной индустрии и професии Бармена в Армении.
Общественная организация Армянская Ассоциация Барменов (А.А.Б.) была оффициально зарегистрирована в государственном регистре Республики Армения под номером 211.171.01285, 10 октября 2002 года. Решением общего совета учредителей А.А.Б. было решено: Армен Чилингарян выбран президентом А.А.Б., Тигран Аветисян вице-президентом А.А.Б., Вагинак Срапян вице-президентом А.А.Б. по флейрингу, Григор Матнишян вице-президентом А.А.Б. по кейтерингу.
В 2002 году А.А.Б. объявила о себе и о своей деятельности Международной Барменской Ассоциации (IBA), тем самым, сделав первый шаг к сотрудничеству. Вследствие А.А.Б. получила приглашение от Международной Барменской Ассоциации на 52-й международный съезд барменских ассоциаций, в качестве наблюдателя.
Вице-Президент А.А.Б. Тигран Аветисян посетил Испанию (г. Севилья) где и проходил очередной ежегодный съезд IBA с 18 по 23 октября 2003 года. А.А.Б. представилась барменским ассоциациям 49-и стран мира с отчетом о проделаной работе, в котором показала весь потенциал необходимый для вступления в ряды IBA. На общем собрании IBA был поставлен вопрос о вступлении А.А.Б. в ряды IBA.
В октябре 2004 года состоялось очередное собрание совета Армянской Ассоциации Барменов, во время которого был избран новый совет правления: Тигран Аветисян - Президент, Ваагн Бабаян Вице-президент, Вагинак Срапян Вице-президент по флейрингу, Григор Матнишян Вице-президент по кейтерингу.
20 октября 2005 года на ежегодном собрании стран членов IBA в Хельсинки, Финландия, Армянская Ассоциация Барменов была принята в действительные члены Международной Ассоциации Барменов (IBA).
21 декабря 2008 года в гостинице ереванской гостинице Best Western Congress Hotel, состоялось очередное ежегодное собрание Армянской Ассоциации Барменов, во время которого был избран новый совет правления: Тигран Аветисян - Президент, Ваагн Бабаян Вице-президент, Вагинак Срапян Вице-президент Григор Арутюнян Вице-президент, Артем Хачунц Вице-президент.
На сегодняшний день Ассоциация имеет более 400 активных членов которые работают в Армении и зарубежом.
Армянская Ассоциация Барменов – это своего рода барменский профсоюз, цитадель знаний, общность профессионалов своего дела, имеющая огромный потенциал как для развития каждого из них - участие в конкурсах, чемпионатах мира, выездных съездах, так и для партнерских организаций - производителей, поставщиков, продавцов, рестораторов.
Армянская Ассоциация Барменов регулярно обновляет накопленный опыт барменского мастерства. Вступление в члены I.B.A. позволило Армении в лице А.А.Б. принимать участие во всех международных обучающих программах, включая Чемпионат Мира среди барменов.

Once again, the Armenian team hits the road 🇦🇲

This time, Armenian Bartenders’ Association President Tigran Avetisyan, alongside our talented competitor Gohar Gasparyan, who will represent Armenia at the Mattoni Grand Drink 2026 in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, from May 1–3.

We proudly remind that Gohar earned her place by winning the Armenian Preliminary Tour of Mattoni Grand Drink 2025.

The Mattoni Grand Drink is a prestigious annual World Championship in mixing non-alcoholic cocktails, held since 1997 and officially recognized by the International Bartenders’ Association (IBA). It brings together top bartenders from around the world to create innovative, low-calorie, non-alcoholic drinks using Mattoni Mineral Water as a core ingredient.
