More info on zartnir.am Why we do it:
More than 40% of the Armenian population lives in poverty which equals ~1 250 000 people and ~875 000 of them live outside of Yerevan. It is proven that people with less financial capital are less likely to get access to high-quality education. Educational system issues are one of the biggest challenges of the country which does not have significant subsoil re
sources, e.g., oil & gas, making Human Capital the most important driver of changes. However, 35% of Armenia’s school students at late primary school are unable to read and understand a short, age-appropriate text by age 10. For example, the same share in Azerbaijan is 23%, in Georgia 14%, in developed countries varies between 1-3%. There is a scientifically proven effective and affordable tool that allows changing the status quo: books, reading, and sharing of thoughts. By creating interactive reading clubs, Zartnir not only develops schools students as individuals but develops the educational system of Armenia and Artsakh. Mission & values:
Our mission is: to create equal opportunities for school students in Armenia and Artsakh to access education of the 21st century. Our values:
