Tek Ura means ‘At the Bridge’ We stand with Albania’s most marginalised—offering therapy, skills training, recovery, and inclusive Christian community in Tirana and Durrës. Our vision:
‘a flourishing community for all – where people feel valued, interconnected and are active participants’

Through our programs we seek to offer a crossing point for a diverse and often divided community to reconcile

and live together in peace, where there is community healing, social justice and where life and faith are celebrated. A bridge to new possibilities and hope of a flourishing future.

Could you walk, run — with us?

Twelve years ago, Annie and I arrived in Albania with a vision and a handful of supporters. Churches prayed. People gave. Together we took a step of faith into the unknown.

Today, Tek Ura reaches thousands of people every year — children getting into school for the first time, families who had nowhere to turn finding community and stability, a church of 78 members growing in the heart of Tirana and Durrës.

This October, to mark ten years of Tek Ura, we're putting together a team to take on the Tirana 10K — and we'd love you to be part of it.

🗓 Sunday 18 October 2026 📍 Tirana, Albania

The weekend includes a celebration evening at Tek Ura Tirana on Saturday — a chance to see the work, meet the team, and hear the stories. Then on Sunday, we run together through the streets of Tirana.

We're asking everyone who joins to raise a minimum of £250 to secure their place, and to aim for £2,000. If 20 people hit that target, together we raise £40,000 for the years ahead.

You don't need to be a serious runner. You just need to want to be part of something meaningful.

The laugh lines say it all.

Our Older Persons Social group at Tek Ura is one of those quiet, golden things. Women who might otherwise be home alone, gathering together — sharing stories, sharing tea, sharing laughter that echoes down the corridor.

Happy Children's Day from Durrës! 🎈

Today our Durrës centre was full of colour, laughter, and joy as we celebrated International Children's Day with the children and families of our community. Balloons, dancing, costumes, games — and so many smiling faces.

This is what Tek Ura is all about. A place where every child belongs. Where families feel welcomed. Where the community comes together.

A courtyard full of candles. A crowd of children and families. A very old story told in the most beautiful way.

This is our Christingle service — oranges, candles, ribbon and sweets, each element telling the story of God's love for the world. It's one of our most-loved evenings of the year, and watching the light travel from one person to the next never gets old.

Ten years building bridges here has taught us that this land, its people and its culture are extraordinary. The warmth, the resilience, the hospitality — there is nowhere else like it. The best is absolutely yet to come.
