Leaping Boundaries Leaping Boundaries-increasing visibility of female madrasah students on platforms where they are underrepresented.

The organization has discontinued its operations. Vision:

Leaping Boundaries operates with a vision to create peaceful societies where the most marginalized feel that they belong. Mission:

The organization provides female madrasah students a combination of skills and access to platforms, through which they are empowered to be strong, whole-hearted, conscientious individuals, empowered to sol

ve problems and contribute effectively to the society. Our History

It was first initiated as a project in 2012 after reading an article on the Star Campus that highlighted the challenges faced by Alia madrasah students. Initially it was a language and leadership development programme that focused on building English Language skills. The project came to an abrupt halt in 2013 because of political crisis. It was then that it was identified that the challenge faced by the sector was not a lack of English language skills but a lack of platforms where they were not able to represent themselves. Hence it was redesigned and relaunched in February 2014 with a new goal, a new set of volunteers and two new madrasahs. Because it started as a voluntary project, it operated as a project as part of Garbo Bangladesh Foundation from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, it was incorporated as part of a new organization, Shammo Foundation, started by the founder of the project. In 2018, Leaping Boundaries was incorporated as a charitable trust. Since then, the focus has been on leadership, human rights and gender-based approaches to create resilient individuals with access to safe environments.
