February 29 is Rare Disease Day, a day to recognize the millions affected by conditions that often go unnoticed.
For young people, it’s a chance to learn, speak up, and show support. Every act of awareness and kindness helps make a world where no one feels invisible.
At the National Youth Volunteer Corps, we live by respect, inclusion, and service. Today, think about how you can help someone feel seen and supported.
Who can you reach out to or learn about today?

During filming, a woman passed by some trash and said she didn’t want to pick it up. A young person stepped forward and said, “We need to keep our environment clean.” And just like that, she turned back and picked it up.

That’s what youth leadership looks like.

Social justice isn’t only about policies and protests. It’s about responsibility. It’s about dignity. It’s about caring for the spaces we all share.

This International Day of Social Justice, we celebrate young people who lead by example and prove that change starts with courage — even in small moments.

February 20 is the International Day of Social Justice, a day to reflect on fairness, equality, and human dignity.
For young people, social justice isn’t abstract—it’s how we treat each other, how we advocate for the marginalized, and how we show up for our communities.
The National Youth Volunteer Corps believes that service, respect, and inclusion are the foundation for a just society. Today, we challenge youth to speak up, volunteer, and take meaningful action.
What does social justice mean to you?

Valentine’s Day reminds us that love shows up in many ways. In friendships, family, community, and the small moments we often overlook.
For young people, love can mean listening without judgment, helping where you can, and standing by someone when they need support.
At the National Youth Volunteer Corps, we believe love is reflected in service, respect, and accountability to one another.
Today, take a moment to show care in a real way.
What does love look like in your life right now?

The NYVC is spreading awareness for World Cancer Day. We stand with those fighting, those who have survived, and the families affected. Awareness saves lives through prevention, early detection, and support. Let’s stand for hope, care, and action.

February 4 marks World Cancer Day, a global reminder that cancer is not just a medical issue, but a human one.
For young people, this day matters. It’s about education, early awareness, compassion, support and standing up for fair access to care. Whether through volunteering, sharing information, or supporting loved ones, youth play a real role in reducing stigma and saving lives.
At the National Youth Volunteer Corps, our values of service, respect, and integrity guide us to show up for our communities, especially when it matters most.
Today, let’s reflect, learn, and support one another.

A look back at an impactful Youth Townhall evening centered on honest dialogue, shared purpose, and youth leadership in action.

The discussion highlighted pressing local and regional issues, including challenges faced across the Commonwealth and CARICOM, while also focusing on practical solutions. Key themes included the importance of integrating volunteerism and social responsibility into education, building strong local collaborations before expanding regionally and internationally, and working with organizations that share common missions and values.

We were honoured to have some of our members as a part of the dynamic panel featuring:
Janet Simon (CARICOM Youth Ambassador & Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassador, NYVC)
Chrysean Jarvis (CARICOM Youth Ambassador, NYVC)
Shaquan O’Neil (Youth MP, St. George’s, NYVC)
Jawan Jackson (Youth MP, St. Philip’s North, NYVC & Host)
Jayden Martin (Moderator)
Donté Walker (Commonwealth Youth Delegate)

The presence and engagement of NYVC members, NYPAAB, Good Human 268, and community participants made the evening meaningful and productive. Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared, and contributed. These conversations are how progress begins.
